just got my v265 2day and used used motorola mobile phone tools and cable to upload all my contacts to it. software works great except for 1 thing. The icon that allows me to upload/download images and ringtones is disabled. you've done it again VZW. when i plug my friends V300 T-mobile, it's enabled. For the v265, does anyone know if there's a way around this to allow mp3 tones or pictures to be sent/received from the phone?

klapper (or anyone with answers),

I'm new to motorola products so forgive me if these are stupid questions.

1) Is motorola mobile phone tools included when you purchase the phone?

2) Will it allow you to make your own mp3 ringers and sync them to your phone?

3)If this program will not alow you to add mp3 ringers to the v265, does anyone have any idea how to create your own mp3 ringers and get them on your phone.

Thanks for helping the newbie out.

2) it doesn't allow you make mp3 ringers. in fact it has a feature to allow you to send/receive to the phone but it's disabled. must be a VZW feature.
3) as for mp3 ringers, any mp3 file you have, you can download mp3 splitter program to take chunks and se...

Do you have to have a particular service plan to send the mp3's that you've split to the phone? Or can you upload them via the USB cable?

you have to sign up for some service i think. with USB cable, i can't even upload when using the motorola mobile phone tools. it's a disabled option. i tried it w/ a T-mobile phone and the same usb cable and laptop, it works fine so it's something to do with VZW or the phone software is just not supported to handle USB transfer of images and mp3 files.
