switching modes
i looked in the manual online (amazon.com) and it doesn't tell you how to switch modes (from gsm 1800-->800, etc). does the phone do it by itself? thanks in advance

the phone will swich automatically. the only negative is that when traveling in europe or outside the us, you cannot choose which carrier you want to use

Not true. A little seem editting and manual network selection works like a charm...
