True but I also herd that if you have the v600 you can trade it in and get 75$ for it. I dont know if that is true so if anyone has any info on that please let me know. Thanks

Sorry, no trade-ins or credits for old phones. I suggest E-Bay to try and recoup any losses

Absolutely.

My V600 should catch around $300 with it's accessories, even with use. Will be getting ready to throw it up on ebay after my first initial week with my razr.

Of course, I also fell prey to one of hose list sites, as I'm patient, and I may yet get one for my "free gift" which I could then sell as well.

You would have to "migrate" over to Cingular from AT&T. You need to physically go into your nearest Cingular/AT&T Store and ask to do this. Mind you there's a charge of $18 per phone to migrate over. You'll keep the same cell number but you'll HAVE TO buy a Cingular phone (in your case the RAZR V3; Cingular SIM card comes with it). You'll also need to sign up for a new 2-year contract to buy the RAZR V3 at $499 (regular price: $599).
I just migrated over yesterday and although it cost me a pretty penny, the RAZR V3 is pretty much worth it. I really like the look and feel of this phone, but haven't explored the phone thoroughly yet. I would also advise you to place insurance on the phone, being that it costs so much.
Your V600 will now be r...

You can't insure this phone!

If I can't insure this phone, then the rep at Cingular had ripped me off. And I KNOW he is not.

I'm paying $3.99 per month for insurance on this phone, and it is well worth it.

You can continue to pay insurance on the phone all you want, however if you lose the phone, you are SOL. Tell your buddy who sold you the phone to recheck the sales materials on the phone. It will tell him, too that insuramnce is not available. Still not satisfied? Call Cingular yourself.

Or, don't do either of those things. It's not your responsibility to do your Cingular rep's job for them, or to catch their mistakes.

You're right, you're not getting ripped off, and when the time comes, if you have a claim before Cingular takes corrective action, you WILL get satisfaction. It may just take a little dogged pursuit on your part.

At least, that's MY plan. 🙂

It sounded to me like a friend of her's sold her the phone and insurance. He should have known better.

Here I go around again with you bbbssport. You think that you can manipulate the system. You are wrong, and making a big stink about it will get you nowhere. Feel free to try. I would like to be on the other end of that call to Lockline. I hear the bellowing of laughter now.

Isell, you have your opinion, I have mine. That doesn't make me "wrong." IMO, people that come to this forum should know both sides. I didn't attack you for your stance, please don't attack me for mine.

But forget my opinion or yours. A week ago, an insurance underwriter posted the following to howardforums on this very topic, which I posted here.

"You are not held liable for Lockline's decision not to cover this phone under their agreement with Cingular, Cingular is. As with any business, any Cingular employee's actions are the responsibility of Cingular as a company. You were sold insurance with the purchase of your phone and for your phone. You are therefore covered by your payment of the monthly premium and any issues with coverage...

☚ī¸ Unfortunaly you cannot get the insurance on this phone. It's not a decison that Cingular made it is one that lockline made. Just because this is such a high cost phone (such as alot of the PDA's and handset such as that, you cannot cover under insurance either) And if you do have insurance on this phone I suggest you remove it and not waste your money.

If you migrate to Cingular your ATT contract will be forgiven. You can then sign a new contract with us and get the phone you want at the 2 year contract price. There will be no credit check if you are migrating from ATT.
The current going rate for a V3 if you sign a 2 year contract is $519.99, with a $50 mail in rebate.
