Sure!

Take a phonebook entry you have made and would like to use voice dial on.

Go to it and edit it in the phonebook, you'll see a line that list's "Voice name", this is where you can assign a voice code to the phone to associate it with that entry.

Once you have entered the voice name, you can then hit the voice dial button, say the name you assigned, and it will dial it. It isn't perfect, my advice is to practice how you would say that name several times before recording it, so you don't confuse the phone later on when actually dialing.

With the voice dial and a 810/850 BT earbud, you can dial from the earpiece as well!

Take care.

SO how do you actually dial the phone? I am not sucessful in it asking me to dial the phone. I have held down the "voice soft key" with the door closed but it doesn't ask me for the name or prompt me in any way to say the word that I am trying to dial. It's set up in my address book and asked me 2 times for the name, repeat the name but how do i use it when it's set up in the address book?

Thanks,

do NOT hold the voice button down. pust it for about a half-second and release, then speak the name you want to dial.

YOU ARE CORRECT! Thank you very much for this information. I got it! Now I only wished that it would do it with the flip closed and no bluetooth headset like my IDEN 95ci did!

But thanks again for this information.

Great but can you help ME??? When saving or editing a number I am not given a 'voice' option .. just 'phone' or 'e-mail' .. if I select e-mail there is a voice option within it but I must also enter an e-mail address with it .. is there something I need to turn on or am not doing right?

I figure if everything doesn't work I'm taking it back and making them give me a new one .. I normally wouldn't be overly picky but since they won't insure it I'm taking it back if anything is wrong while still under warranty!

But .. if it's just me and I can make it work then all the better!

Are you saving your numbers to the SIM or in the phone's memory? You set that option up in each phone book entry (just above the voice entry).

You cannot use voice dialing with numbers saved to the SIM, only in phone memory (its in the manual).

And, if you enter them in the phone and later want to copy numbers to the SIM, the voice tags disappear because they are hardware-dependent.

The phone wont present the voice tag option when saving, however when editing an entry after you have made it into the phonebook, you should see the voice section to then make your voice tag, but this will only be shown if you saved the entry to the phone itself, not the SIM.
