Motorola RAZR V3
Saw this one, not impressed
Today while I was at Cingular getting my new phone I got the Motorola V551. I asked the guy to see the phone and this phone is just too wide for my liking. I thought it was going to be much smaller than it really was. I don't think its worth $500

It is .4" wider than the V551 you bought. It's also .4" thinner. 🙂

I just find it a little silly that people are being critical of what the V3 isn't. Don't like it/not enough features/too expensive? Great! Buy a different one. I don't think anyone has said this is the greatest phone of all time and that anyone is an idio if they get anything else.
As for the size, if I remember my HS geometry class, the V3 is actually 50% SMALLER than the V551 - 4.35 in^3 vs 6.55 in^3. I didn't consider any other clamshell phone or PDA, they're just too bulky for me to carry around all day, which is what I wanted from my next phone. All other things become unimportant if a phone doesn't fit your basic needs. 🙂

Well said..I have the Nokia 6620 and wouldn't dream of getting the V3, but everyone has different likes/dislikes..the most important thing is that if we spend lots of money on our phones, is that we all enjoy them and they do what they need to do for us. 🙂

The only other phone I wanted besides the RAZR was the V620. It's heavier, but it also has up to 262000 colors and it has video capture. However, I'm sure I'll be fine with the RAZR in the long run, but it's nice to know there are other choices out there that are of good quality.

Indeed, it is a styling all in its own..I had the V400 at one time, my daughter still has hers..I just can't get away, I am more Nokia myself..my 6620, with its 1GB memory card, video capture that's only limited to how much memory you have, takes pretty damn good pictures for a camera phone, has the Symbian OS, mp3 player, and a few other things..it just seems to work good for me..
