It's on the FedEx truck for delivery, woohoo! I can't wait to play with this thing. I'm going to post my impressions of the phone when I get it. Hope everyone else does the same (in place of pointless whining, complaining, or bickering). For those getting the V3, enjoy! For those who don't want it, well . . . we don't actually care. I thought about getting the V710 until I found out that the camera was crap and the bluetooth was crippled. But did I go to the V710 forum and whine? Nope, not once. So seriously guys, enough with the "unlocked or locked", "this phone isn't worth it", or any other pointless questions/comments.

I HATE YOU! 👿 I'm still saving money to get it. I also wanna wait a bit and read the reviews from buyers like you, and see if it worth buying. I expect to afford it by Xmas 😉 Since I work for Cingular i get 30% off the retail price. 🙂

When you get your phone, can you find a friend with another service such as T-Mobile and pop in the sim card to test whether the phone is locked/unlocked? Thanks! This issue matters to me because I plan to travel internationally and would like to purchase a local sim card when I am traveling (it's too expensive being charged international roaming fees). I really want the V3 and I heard if I buy an unlocked phone, I cannot use many of the functions such as internet, email, etc. Now, my only option is getting it from Cingular, but if it's locked...I'm super screwed. Thanks for the help.

Also, I noticed that some people in this forum is confused with phones being locked by manufacturer. This is incorrect. Phones are sim locked through the se...

Again, you are incorrect. The phones are locked by the manufacturer, by request of the service provider. The SIM card has NOTHING to do whether the phone is locked or unlocked. They call this a "Subsidy Lock", meaning that phone will only work with that provider who gets the phones. There are, however, certain codes that are placed on the SIM card that the phone will recognize that provider, thus is why wh...

Hi Terry,

Thanks for making it clear...as you said...it's placed by the manufacturer as requested by the service provider...that's exactly what i mean by the a service provider lock. Anyway, this still doesn't answer my question of whether the phone is really locked or not cause you hear on this forum that is it and it's not.

Okay, I will determine myself...is there is return policy? What is it? I will just go and get the phone, bring it home and insert my cousin's T-mobile sim card and see what happens.

If it's locked, then I'll just cancel and bring it back...is that possible?

I was told it's a 15 day return policy.

I agree with you, as helpful as people are trying to be, just because Motorolas have been unlocked before doesn't mean this one will be. This is a signature phone with a 100 day exclusive sale agreement that Cingular paid boku dollars for.

If you buy it and it IS locked, unless you have a trip planned within the next month, why not wait till the hysteria over this phone is over, go back, and get it unlocked. Or just keep following this forum - someone will post it.

OR, buy it with a new #, keep your current unlocked phone as an additonal "family plan" phone, pay $20 (or $10) a month and use that phone when you travel to place calls.

Right now, unless you're on a big minute plan, I don't se...
