I'm not saying that all of the V3's are. I'm saying that the phones that we won in the contest are suppost to be unbranded and unlocked!

Oh....cingnashsales, did you get yours yet? I'm trying to figure out when I'm getting mine. I usually get my phones before everyone else does here in Cincinati, for some reason. 🙂

I'm in Nashville, and I think we may be getting ours soon. I hope so, I'm looking forward to trying it out. Not sure if I will keep it, though.

OKAY, just filled out my electronic w9 form. I called the moto hotline for the contest and was informed that the phones are to be shipped by NOV 18. If you need to fill out the w9, do it ASAP! FYI, MOTO has awarded out 16,000 V3 handsets for this contest. They made a pretty penny off of us sales associates.

Motorola makes out because the will have their phones on the hips of 16,000 of the most visible people involved with the industry(product awareness, drool factor).


We would sell lots of Motorola phones contest or not because they are a good value for our customers and offer many benefits.

What's up! First time on phone scoop. I received THE RAZR V3 last week and let me tell you, it is a great phone. The web sites make the phone look big. I believe when it's released & the price comes down, it might be a sell out. The only downside right now is it's hard to find accessories at a decent price.

Ok, if you log on to the motorola website where you registered your points to win the phone, at the bottom of your phone list it will say when you were cleared and awarded the phone. How long of a period was it from when you were awarded the phone and actually got it in the mail. I was awarded mine on the 1st and wondering when I will get it. I cannot wait!!!

Does it really come with a leather carrying case like someone said earlier?

I made the mistake by putting my message under the subject "contest winning". My apologies. I bought the phone and although I paid alot, I don't feel upset about it. I guess if you like something bad enough, you'll pay the price.

That's my point! Value is relative!

A manager in our market(Michigan) got her v3 yesterday. She had not won a v400 earlier in the yr so no w-9 was neccessary.

It did not come with a clip or a case. It did come with a data cable, cd and home charger.

I filed my w-9 electronically and hope to have mine by weeks end.

Would someone be able to quickly explain the contest and what it has to do with the W9's? Thankyou ATT Wireless Central Region

There was a sales contest run by Motorola, prizes were , BT headset, v551 or v3.

The w9 is a for tax purposes. If you win more than $600(calander yr) in a contest, you are taxed.

Yes, too late. It was a four week contest 9/7-10/7.

My manager just recieved his yesterday. But he didnt have to fill out the W9. I had to fill out the W9 on mine but those should be out asap from what I was told.

How soon is asap? A guy I know from one of our other locations received his on friday. I did my w9 Friday afternoon....hopefully I'll have mine today or tomorrow.

The contest phones aren't going to be branded, but phones purchased through Cingular and sold to regular customers will probably get a branded phone.

Posted this yesterday at 6 PM but with all the locked/unlocked and price whining traffic, probably got missed.

No obtrusive Cingular logo (a small white one on the back, but you can't really see it against the silver). Really cleverly have a Cingular logo display on the OUTSIDE screen when you're on the phone, so other people can see it (and know it's a Cingular phone) but you don't.

I have no objection to the branding, it's tasteful and inobtrusive.

Oh, and to anticipate the resulting spewing from the anti-Cingular left 😉 , if you object to branding, I assume you walk around pretty much butt naked. Everything is branded today. My son's school has a "no branding" policy, you have to buy from a special Lands End catalog to get ...

I filled out my W9 form and have been waiting on my V3. I called Motorola today and they said they are still collecting W9's. Before, they said the phones were to be mailed out by the 17th. I was told today that they HOPE to be mailed out by the end of this month. Nobody at my store who filled out a W9 form has received theirs yet. Not sure if anyone else has. Just wanted to relay the disappointing news.
