Signal Refresh Rate

Has anyone noticed that Nokia take much longer than other phones (Motorolas for sure) to acquire a signal once it has lost it? I have T-Mobile and in my office building the signal disapears in the elevator and it take a while for the phone to get back to the T-Mobile standby screen. If I use a Motorola (V600) then the refresh rate is much quicker.

I have the Sharp TM150 and I go places where the signal gets completly lost. I usually have to turn mine off and then back off again. But when I do turn it back on I get full signal even though I was in the same spot where I had no service. (I Only have to occasionaly though)

I have that problem with all moto phones available for Cingular. Bad thing is...I love Moto and I just deal with it.

i also noticed a longer delay in re-acquiring a new signal, especially when switching from a cingular to an ATT tower during my tests with this phone. however rich and i just chalked it up to the fact that it supports newer radio protocols, and i have an older cingular SIM.
in these conditions, it did take noticeably longer to switch towers than the sony ericcson s710a or the moto razr that i have tested.
