I would say that the speaker phone is loud enough .. and is useable. I would also say that it does distort at times. It's not like I have to strain to hear it, though I do have to listen a little closer then I would like. this is with max road noise (driving 80 in a old Subaru). Every other place the speaker phone works great.
Reception: I compare it to my wifes Nokia 3586 because her phone's reception has matched or beaten any phone that enters our home (our house is a fringe area). Anyway, I took her phone and my phone to all the fringe areas on my way to work, and call the other phone (I know, a little over the top .. and thats me). The 6100 didn't drop a call. And was for all practical purposes, equivelant to the Nokia.

that's the first I've heard of about the 6100 reception-being as good as nokia. in my tests, the nokia and moto were the best in reception while the LGs have been the crappiest. I couldn't take the constant switching to analog and dropping calls of the 6100 i just had to return it.

Do you use Verizon or something? LG's have always been superior to Motorola for reception for USCC, and the 6100 is no exception. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews from my customers who purchased the 6100 from me, and mine has worked flawlessly since I bought it.

(I apologize for the rhyme, it was unintentional)

ya, i'm with Verizon. So you think it might be carrier related? If so, how come my moto performs better than LG with Verizon. I don't think the carrier would matter if I do phone to phone comparison within the same carrier, would it?

I doubt it... maybe it's a software difference? 😕

Whoa. What moto phone are you using and what LG are you using. I had the T730 and that would always jump to Analog for no reason. My 6100 will sometimes but I usually set it to be all digital anyways. Now I have noticed that I will miss calls in the same areas with both phones. For whatever reason my phone will sometimes just not ring and send ppl to voicemail.

swap it out for the nokia or moto phone. forget LGs.. they're crap. if you have to go thru so much trouble to get a good digital signal and for a phone to work the way you want it, it's not worth it. get a different phone.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!! Don't go with a Motorola unless its the V710 because it has good RF performance but it has a lot of other bugs. Nokia has terrible RF reception in buildings. I would stick with LG or Samsung. The LG 7000 has very high marks.

nokia's have bad RF in buildings? That's the first I've heard.. I never had any problems with Nokia ever.. I've used 2 LGs - the 3200 and the 6100 and both had reception problems in my area.
