Changing VM number

Hey, I'm wondering if anybody knows how to change the number that is dialed when I press the envelope button on the 6100. I want to change it so that it dials my phone number rather than *86 so that I'm not charged minutes when checking VM. I changed the number in Message Settings but even after that, pressing the envelope button still dials *86. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks!

you can go to messages...message settings(7)..then to voicemail number(6)..then edit it

Unfortuneatly, this only changes the number for the specail key 1 (hold for 3 seconds). This does not change the number that gets dialed when you press envelope-1 SEND. There is no way to change the built-in numbers.
Use the 1 key or I just have a contact called voice mail.
