Z500...really available?

I checked cingular.com and they still do not have the phone on their website, and it's 1230pm eastern. When I called customer care at 10am, they didn't have it then either.

Are stores actually carrying this phone today? I'm going to call Cingular again and see if they can order it, or i'll call a local store. If any of you have this phone in your hand...where did you get yours?

Yes the phone is available, at least it is in the retail stores. I am in Texas and we were able to place orders on Monday. I haven't ordered any yet so I don't know if there is a backorder or not.

Regarding Cingular.com. Be advised, they sell refurbished phone most of the time, so that is sometimes why they may not list one. That is also why they sometimes have them much cheaper than in the stores, which only purchase NEW phones.

Just a little FYI!

Is that really true that Cingular.com sells ONLY refurbished phones? That is disturbing...

Is that really true that Cingular.com sells ONLY refurbished phones. Does it depend on your luck whether or not you get a new phone or refurb. phone? Do they even tell you that they are selling you a refurb. phone? The prices online seem to be the same as in the store. If this is all true, then it's really disturbing...

Thanks for the info!

It is starting to appear! It is available in the Orlando,Fl. market.....but, not all locations yet.
I got mine this morning and I am impressed. I like the speakerphone option.....I just need to figure out how to adjust the contrast....can't seem to locate a setting in the menu....But, it's solid rf everywhere I've been soo far !...I'll post a review in a couple days.

Cingular.com does NOT sell refurbished phones. The only time you get one of those is through warranty exchange and sometime insurance claims. It is illegal to sell refurbished phones with out disclosing it, hence the former AT&T wireless site with the new and refurbished phones listed separately.
