let see a t637 cost $229 if you wanna buy direct so does the z500

but t637 has bluetooth, infared etc. and z500 dont so why it cost the same ?

why would any one want to buy a z500 when you can get a t637 ? cause of a flip ? it even looks agly

a phone like z500 shouldnt cost no more then $100 since it dont have anything at all but the basic phone functions

on ebay you can pick up an unlocked brand new t637 from $150-180

so who really wants this z500 ? and whats sooooo good about it for $224 ? and is it worth it ?, (they should of made it QUAD band at least to give it some credit)

Let me Add for Z500
NO Bluetooth
NO Infared
NO WAP
NO Email Client
this phone also lacks lot more abilityes
it has EDGE witch is a 3g phone but where are all the other features ?

(they need to make t640 with EDGE and QUAD band and that would be a perfect t630/t637 phone)

whos gonna use this 3G network ?, is it FREE ?
if this phone was for europe 900mhz thats something to think about cause there its all free, but in USA, they say its faster then GPRS but who cares for a typical user it no good they charge money for evry .byte (i just connected to the inet with my phone and they charged me .20cents with cingilar, so a faster network means suck more money out of you soo fast you wouldnt even know it)

🙂 The advantage of EDGE is not only speed, but connectivity. The reason that GPRS has cost so much is due to the lack of large-scale networks available. Now that Cingular and At&T have joined together you'll see the GPRS charges slowly decrease. As for the Z500's features...

😁 It does have WAP (both 1.2.1 & 2.0)
😁 It does have Email (POP3/SMTP)
😁 It can function as a modem

It can also be connected with a USB cable

Not to mention all the eye candy features that are becoming fairly common these days.

I have heard numerous people comment on why this phone does not have bluetooth. I have been in favor of bluetooth for awhile as well. I have a phone with bluetooth, and a wireless keyboard/mouse setup as well. This phone does...

EDGE is just an enhancement of GPRS... It's EGRPS. GRPS coverage is available wherever Cingular has voice coverage, so availability wasn't the problem. Their Data Footprint is larger than that of any other company nationwide. Granted with the ATTWS/Cingular merger it will definitely get larger. You can get a data package pretty cheap now a days. Which is cheaper than payin per kilobyte.
Bluetooth is really for wireless connectivity between devices and not for connecting to the internet, but can be used to connect a laptop to you phone or something like that. BlueTooth doesn't connect directly to the internet. It has to go through another deive to do that. For example, If your laptop has bluetooth and you have a motorola V551 or a Nokia 6...

does Cingular charge for the time spent or the amount of data? could have sworn it was the amt of data. that, and you can add a data plan and it reduced the per kB charge significantly

it charges for data transfered
but i Travel alot back and forth usa and europe , i dont need a contract or a plan, i only use PrePaid and service sucks, they charge me from the second you make a call (in europe 1st 3 sec are FREE, "ohh sorry wrong #" why should i have to pay? for ppl that diald wrong #'s, or if i call and get an Answering mashine ?, in europe all incomeing calls are free even international, and for $100 a month you get everything unlimited what ever your phone can do talk for hours transfer gigs of data millions of sms's mms's you name it for a simple $100 a month

now that what i like , unlike in the USA , i think they are in stone age
