To give you the short answer...no one knows for sure when the Koi will be released.

However, it is shown on Kyocera's site as a phone that's "coming soon". Couple that with the very short appearance of the phone in Kyocera's commercials, and you can safely estimate that the phone will be released in the next month or 2 (or 3).

In regards to the Metro PCS release, I couldn't tell you. Is Metro's technology CDMA? From the name, I would guess that Metro is PCS like Sprint, but you never know. If Metro's tech is PCS, I would doubt it would be released for Metro. If it's CDMA, it may have a chance.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thats a very good question, but i have read somewhere that the slider is coming back so probably not. Plus remember the insurance is a big scam anyway and they'd rather give us 5 refurbished ****ty fones instead of one new one.
My question is in regards to insurance. If I buy a fone from lets say ebay, or get a fone from a friend, activate it, have it ok for a while and then something was to happen to it-IS IT covered? Or do I have to be the original purchaser with proof from the store? thanx 😁

when i was with sprint, i bought a 5300 from best buy. now the best thing about best buy, is when you buy their insurance (1 price 39.99 for 2 years) they will replace it if your phone model is phased out with a brand new model that comes out. also if something is wrong, they dont give you a refurbished one, they give you a brand new one. thats the best thing about best buy insurance.

That sound great, the only problem is best buy doesnt deal w/VZW. I would assume that Assurion is still VZW's insurance holder. Even after that law suit against them...which I forgot to send in the info in time and didn't get in on. But either way until asurion gets its act together we will still be getting used crappy phones. Now that Im thinking about it, it almost doesnt seem worth the insurance. 3.99 a month for 12 months is 48.00, plus they charge an additional $30.00-$50.00 at time of claim. So for a hundred dollars Im getting someone elses fixed ****.
Hey its smart business, just sucks for us.

I don't know what your guys problem is with the insurance. It is not a scam, at least I don't think it is, yet I don't get insurance on my phone because I am careful with my phone. All refurbished means is that at one time it did not work correctly, the manufacturer fixes it so it works again. If you think Best Buy didn't do that, then you got another thing coming. As for the Koi being a replacement for the SE47, highly unlikely because of the fact that the Koi has a 1.2 megapixel camera on it, so it will probabaly be at least fifty dollars more then the SE47. What will probably happen if you bring a SE47 in that is broken, they will give you a partial credit towards another phone, if they don't have a refurbished SE47.

Actually Lockline Insurance with at&T wireless is about the same(3.99 per month and 35.00 deductable at time of claim) Except they send out a refurb of what you used to unless it discontinued theyll send a like model. The funny thing is the like model is usually an upgrade. We were giving out Nokia 6360s for the 3360 and 5165 and moto V60 colours for V60i's, which at the time they weren't discontinued for more than a couple of monthes. And sometimes they would give out new phones if they were out of refurbs.

Koi should be with Verizon pretty soon and may be with US Cellular also. It pays to wait for its release if you are looking for a replacement.
