Verizon Update & Price Question
Anyone have an update when Verizon might be carrying this phone? I spoke with a sales rep. 🙂 and he said that maybe by 3rd quarter...when might that be?
Also, anyone know of what price it might be offered? I would think that it would be right there along the price of the LG phones.....about $100-$150, anyone else's thoughts?

Ok I have seen to websites that are saying that the phone will have a retail list price of $299 in US.
I just hope some sort of rebates will happen, but I guess that wont occur until sometime during Christmas 2004. 😢

That price is more or less correct, but on a 2 year agreement it may be $200, and a 1 year, $250. Your date is off, by a lot. The phone is not even in the main part of testing. It is still being tested in Japan and the Phillepines. The phone will be available in the Phillepines this summer, so I'd say its a Christmas phone. My view will be that they will hype this and the VX8000 for Christmas, like they did the VX6000.

just as a note regarding the overseas testing....it is -not- in testing in Japan and has been available since late 2002 and 2003. there were numerous commercials and many ads at the train stations regarding this phone. (the most popular model for advertisement being the black/red model). There it's known as the a5305k and sells for, if i recall correctly 22000yen. I'm assuming that price that i saw was with a contract of some sort. anyway....just to aside any of that "still in testing in Japan" crap. it's very available there. it's very cool. and well well well worth the wait and money. far superior to the other kyocera phones that have been....less that adequate.

If you work for VZW, then you would know that NEVER has a camera phone been launched at anything below $149.99. And 3rd quarter starts July and runs until September, not just one month

For one, it is a 1.2 mega-pixel camera phone, which is the same as the v710. So there for you can pretty much guarantee that the phone won't be below $199.99. Since the v710 is $419.99 full retail, and the 7000 is $349.99 full retail, it would be more reasonable to assume that this phone will be somewhere in that range, so with a two year contract with VZW the phone will cost somewhere between $319.99-249.99. j2nice I also work for VZW, but I just started. No camera phone has been launched at that low of a price. As for it's release, I am not sure, but I am going to agree with everyone else that it is going to be sometime during fourth quarter of this year since third quarter is almost done.
