Camera quality/software

I am wondering about the quality of the 1+ megapixel cameras these phones have, as well as the quality of the flash. First of all, is this good enough quality to take clear 5x7 size pictures that would only be used on the computer typically anyways? Also, does the flash work as well as on a normal camera? I am asking becuase I want a decent digital camera to have for everyday quick shots (friends, etc.) and if this is good enough I would love to not have to carry around/buy two things. Finally, is there a direct connect to the computer, as well as software, with any of these phones? Thanks for any help.

I don't know if the camera quality would be good. I bought a V710 which had a 1+ Megapixel Camera and the pictures were awful! They had blue grains all around. My VX7000 takes WAY better pics than the V710. About the flash, the flash is going to be nowhere close to a real cameras but it might be helpful...Good luck with your decision!! 🙂

dude you must remeber that this phone has an inbuilt 1 megapix camera most averge digital camera's on the market today are about 3.5 megapixles. so your not going to get real good pics from the phone average at best.

I heard recently this camera is being considered for USC so I have been looking into it for info.
I can tell you it is not a replacement for a real camera and the flash will definitly be under powered- they all are- ITS a phone first. That being said it would be nice to have a device with one that fulfills the function of a phone and a camera. Carrying both is inconvienient.
The big question I would have is whether there is a way to get the pictures off the phone other than sending them to an email account. With a large picture that can get expensive fast. The specs do not say it has a USB connection which would lead me to think that there is no good way to download the pictures one takes. That could be a crippling shortcomming.

Great if you are sure it has a USB port. Do you have one to verify that? I looked at all the specs I could find and nowhere did it have listed a USB port.
Also if you have some better knowlege of this phone/camera can you state how many chords it has for making ringtones. The latest phones are sporting 60+ chords
One more question any chance they are using that new high intensity led flash or is it the standard underpowered one.

Great info in the review. Thanks much!
Interesting to read that the Koi seems to be designed for left handers as that seems to be the way the jog dial and the swivel are positioned and operate..
Not too sure about the battery life which is bound to be bad with the larger color screen. I wonder if a larger battery will be available. I understand it will be released around Nov 17 along with some other new phones...
Definitly a kool phone and minute worthy!

Very good! My other concern with it is that the screen will be easily scratched in ones pocket. I thought about that and realized that PDA users have that problem all the time and use a screen protector film. That would give some much need protection and sounds like a good idea to me. A lens cover protecting the camera lens has already been taken care of which solves one of my other complaints about camera phones that you handle and carry in ones pocket with no lens protection.
