software update
Yesterday, I talked to vzw c.s. and they told me that they are send out data cables and a cd to everyond that has the vx8000 so they can update their phone. He didn't know what the update will fix, but said that it will be sent out in the next month. If anyone bought a data cable for their vx8000, return it because your getting one for free!

we're not fools...here at phonscoop...we all know verizon wireless is a stingy company and will NOT do that...so just give it up that you are joking or do something to prove it...cause if it's true, it's awesome!!

we should call our verizon stores and ask about it. post their response for the sake of me and anyone else

So I went down to VZWireless Store and asked the guy...he started laughing and told me you know how much that would cost?!?! Lol...i guess he's just lying...

my rep said that its possible, and that they usually come out with an update 3 or 4 times before they discontinue the phone

I am 1000 percent positive you will not be receiving a cable in the mail, whe the update comes available you can get in you car and drive to the nearest service center and have them load the update into your phone, but don't hold your breath waiting on a data cable I don't see that ever happening. Just added point you can get them off ebay for next to nothing, i paid 13 bucks and received software with it that works just fine. The salesperson that told you that you were getting a cable mailed to you needs to pass the pipe🙂

i know that this is a little late. but to anyone who would like the software update, they can go to a actual verizon wireless store that is not a stand in a mall and ask customer service to flash the new software to their phone. the process takes 30-40 minutes and will most likely erase anything you have saved. ie. phone book, pics, vids, etc.

i just found out that i was wrong. i just got my vx8000 flashed today with the new VZV05 software. all it did was update the phone with no format. sorry guys for that old post. the flash takes about 25-30 mins.
i am currently looking for what was updated in the programing. so if anyone knows what has been changed give back a reply.

it was a get it now access issue some of the get it now apps would power cycle the phone when you tried to access them after you down loaded them some of the power cycling issues and some other stuff that no one will actually know what it means unless you work with the stuff all the time
