Message Receipt Propblems
Has anyone else had problems with self made ringtones not being accepted by their 8000? I make my ringtones in Goldwave and then sent them to my phone as an attachment like picture mail. When my phone gets the message it says that there was a message reciept failure and the file can not be accepted.
Any help will be great?

Are you sending them as a .mid file? Make sure you are doing that.
Also, make sure the files are no longer than 30 seconds in length (about 235KB).
I had this problem. But if I continually tried to send it, eventually it would come through.

I am sending them as a .mid, so just keep sending them till they go?

That is what I did. But I also have not had any problems lately. Just check the file size. Make sure it is around 235KB or less.

thanks for the information. I will Keep Trying.

I am still having the same problem, I am changing the file type and putting it in 64kbps stereo and it is still giving me the message recipt error. I am doing everything right because I can send the same file to my girlfriends 7000 and it works fine. If anyone Knows anything It would be helpful. This problem makes me think that there might be something wrong with my phone. I am not happy so any help would cheer me up. ☹️

I had a similar problem. The phone did not like the attatchment from the email program I am using. So I tried it from a yahoo email address using the web pages and it worked.
So i suggest trying another email program or just use yahoo mail as a number of us have used it successfully.

Same, I had problems using outlook to send files, but as soon as I switched to my yahoo!mail, it seems to be working fine. Also, like stated above, make sure the file sizes are around 230kb. I have sent 400kb w/o problems, but I might just be lucky.

I have also noted odd behavior where some files that are "too large" will work. Keeping the seconds length at 30 or below seems to be more important.
