Hey, I went to the Verizon Shop today to get this phone, So I went to the sales person and asked if i could upgrade my phone, he said OK. He said that I would need to pay an addition price of 15 for vcast so that the phone could work. I don't know if that is true, i just wanted to know from people who bought this phone if VCAST is necessary to use this phone.

Yes, the phone will work...make and recieve calls...but whats the point of having the 8000 if you dont have the $15 Vpack that allows it to stream video clips? Without that package...no video clips, no point in having the phone!

I just got back from Verizon with my new 8000 and I love it. You are requiered to have Vcast for 2 months (which is free) and then you can cancel after that period.
