I was going to exchange a 6100 for a 8000 this morning. Had an 8000 reserved and waiting for me when I got there (corp store). We went through the exchange and credit card transactions for the 6100 and the Essential Kit I'd previously purchased.

When he went to activate the 8000 though he was unsucessful. Tried for over a half hour. Called and spoke to VZW tech support, etc. No luck. The store rep was very knowledgeable (he was there untill midnight last night setting up the Vcast stuff, new phones, displays, etc).

I went to look at the 8000 during this time and saw that the RF on that was no better in the store as was my 6100
Plus the phone IS big

After 45 minutes of no joy I decided to pull the plug and keep the 6100. Better RF...

That sounds like a shady rip-off attempt.

Yeah. Thats like saying you are "required" to have txt on your phone. Its all B.S. And you do realize that you were in a corp store and they will do anything to get a person to add "data" to their plan.

You don't have to purchase V CAST to purchase this phone.

I bought the 8000 this morning as well and you ARE NOT required to buy the VCast, although it is free for 2 months so why not? I like the 8000 although the phone is too large ☹️ .

VCAST isn't required. The reps get paid on all customers who sign up to VCAST and they are giving 2 months free...hence the..."You must take it for now"...

I refused even the 2 free months and was told I could not. I left the store at that point.
