LG VX-8000 to show up in February

BetterThanJake

"LG also said it expects to sell its previously announced CDMA EV-DO clamshell-style VX8000 phone through Verizon Wireless by February."

http://www.rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=20903 »

Only reason I mention this is 'cuz most ppl have been saying January.

Article doesn't say anything about the VX-8100, which is supposed to be the Bluetooth variant I'm guessing?

It says by Febuary, this means its possible it may show up sooner. I was talking to rep at my local store on Sunday and he was pretty sure the vx8000 will be in by Jan 20th.

We will have to wait and see... 😁

We have waited this long, so a month more is nothing! I would take Feb. in a heartbeat.

good find, but this message does imply we'll be seeing the vx-8000 in the month of January. "VX8000 phone through Verizon Wireless by February." By Febuary means it'll be here "by" Febuary thus a January release.

Mmm... no, "by February" means simply, "as late as February, but hopefully sooner."

I simply was quoting LG themsevles directly, who apparently are trying not to raise any false expectations. If the phone arrives sooner than February, that's great- people will be overjoyed instead of ticked off, as they would be if LG said January and the phone didn't arrive 'till Feb.

LG's being pretty smart on that one. 😉

PS-

I'm also aware that LG issued a press release 3 days after the RCR News article saying January. So apparently they are getting more confident in their ability to release sometime in January. Still I agree with their original line-of-thought, which was to be conservative so that ppl don't cry about it if the phones are a little late.

I little late? This phone has been approved for over a year. Give me a break. Verizon sure is slow.

Verizon isn't slow, find a company that employs US CDMA and BREW based services as well as deploying EV-DO, not like I give a damn, but still find one that does it faster and mroe efficient than Verizon and i'll be inclined to believe you. If you ever check the FCC database there are very few phones that eventually make it to verizon before a year from that approval date. These type things do take time especially when deploying new services that you want to make sure work. Weigh the outcomes, people gripe and complain about a phone release that Verizon never set in concrete or have them gripe and ...

mm mm..no, "by Febuary" means simply, not later than Febuary, as defined by webster, implying January. So we will see the vx-8000 this month. Can't wait

Actually "not later than February" simply means, "not later than February." 😁

Hope you do see the 8k this month... but don't get mad if you have to wait 'till Feb. 1.

Ohh I won't be mad because we will see the vx-8000 in January. As you heard from the 1000 test subjects, they're are already video clips and games available for phones on the ev-do network. This enhanced media service will be replacing the already existant service. We will get our phones in January and an enhanced media service Febuary 1st.

Yeah I know, thanks. But why the 'wow'? I'm often right. 😁

Far as the rest goes... nope, sorry, didn't wait for you to post- I hit this forum only once in awhile and yesterday happened to be the day. In fact I haven't read anything of yours 'cept for the posts where you try to tell me what Webster's dictionary really implies by "by February". I think you may want to consider a new dictionary. 😉

n e ways, my original post was simply to keep ppl from being overly hopeful and then annoyed if the phone didn't show up in January, which I was pretty sure it wouldn't. But the 8K is (finally) almost here, so it's all good. Enjoy.
