verizon wireless is letting 500 customers have the lg vx8000 for FREE. and im ONE of them. the only catch is you have to pay for mobile media. $15/month for a month and a half.

for each individual vzw customer that gets it, theres a special number to call. i got my thing in the mail. its sooo amazing!! the lil cards telling you all the details about the lg vx8000 and offer. once you call that number, a representative gives you the details over again and makes sure everything is covered. and then you confirm a couple things. and then YESS IM GETTING THE LG VX8000 IN 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS!!! (I live in columbia,maryland-dc area) and im sooo happpy!! i just wanna make sure that everyone has a spectacular thanksgiving and pray to Allah/God/Jesus...

I wouldn't say "lots of people are getting them." According to you, only 500.

Count me in as one of the lucky ones! 🙂

I got my card in the mail today and immediately called in. (I'm also in the DC area - Fairfax, VA
specifically)

The rep confirmed the details and said I would receive my VX8000 with holster, charge, FM headset and vehicle power adapter in 2-3 days by FedEx.

My to keep FREE of charge regardless of whether or not I keep the $15/month Mobile Media service after the trial ends in mid-January.

It's a VERY targeted promotion, folks and they require that we allow VZW to contact us up to 3 times during the 2 month trial to provide them feedback on the phone and they Mobile Media service.

You MUST have received the card in the mail (which has your cell number printed on it) in o...

I think both of you need to show some proof. After all, anyone could get on here and claim they have the phone, or that they are getting the phone, or that they are the president of the United States. I need proof...

Post the card you got or something.

Thanks

Haz,

I got the package too, but when I called at about 7pm, it was a voicemail system advising to call back during normal business hours. Did you talk to an air-breather? If so, what time?

well it may not have voice train. but it does have voice dialing. i remember on my lg vx6000. i could say a name, and be like "no" and itd ask me again "Who do you want to call", and i said a name perfectly and itd dial that person, but then id say "no" to cancel it and try over. it was really fun! i just use the hotkeys though. actually my lg 6000 has voice train. but only for the words "yes" and "no".

ahh!! cant wait!! cant wait!! its hopefully either coming today or tomorrow!

bismillah herahman neeraheem! i should prob go thank Him and do a 2 shukraney salaat. jeez, i should be less materialistic shouldnt i?..anyways..thank You!!! now i gotta go more good stuff.

Haz,

Thanks for your info. I called at 8am and got in the trial. The device should get to me on Wednesday. So for the $15 monthly charge for Mobile Media is applied to my bill, but my $6 per month for Mobile Web comes off. I'll still get the same functionality through Mobile Media, BUT without airtime charges that I pay now - part of the trial. So for the cost of about $9 per month, I'll get the expanded service and no cost airtime 24/7. Is that what they told you as well?

I didn't ask. I was going to mainly use it on nights n weekends anyways. wait so for mobile media, they dont charge you airtime?!. i hope ur not confused with the difference of unlimited use and unlimited airtime. thats still really cool though if it works out!

I was told the same thing. The $15 fee for Mobile Media includes UNLIMITED airtime use of all GetItNow and MobileWeb services during the trial. Pretty cool.

Let's hope it stays that way after the trial!

In other words, please make sure they know that their current practice would not be acceptable. We'll pay $15 month, but don't ding our airtime minutes, too.

Therefore, January 15th or so is the right date of its public release (as someone stated below). Well, at least, it's not February-March BS. I can wait until then.

Is it possible for an NYC VZW customer to be one of those 500 by any chance? Pleeeeeeease!

Yeah I searched in infomanager today for lg 8000 and last thing on the list was the M&P on this trial. 500 in SD area and 500 in DC area will get to be part of this trial and then the phone will release to public on January 17th i think it was. It may of been the 15th, i just finished a 58 hour week in a retail store, so i can't really remember

No, only two areas get the test and actually have the 3g service... its not the phone that has the service, its the upgraded towers and this is the only phone compaptible with the ev-do service. (basically 3g). I herd today after I spoke with a rep in responce to the rsvp that depending on the feed back the users give, they will determine a release date for 3g. Im excited, I loved my lg vx6000, 7000, my v710 and now im looking to trying this phone (even if it is all digital 😢 )

Hey CraZyItalian041 - next time, let's try to remember everything so we can put it into one message ok?? It's no fun to read five random messages in a row from some guy that can't sleep and doesn't wanna wake up his wife....thanks. As for me - I'm just waiting for this phone to come out for the speakerphone that my vx7000 lacks!! 😉

Also I would like to know exactly how you got the phone, who you called, and how you signed up for the trial.

the invitation arrived in the mail. theres a special number for each recipient and they know who you are cuz of that number. you have to verify your information. you cant sign up for the trial, only agree if you get it in the mail. they pick you and send you the invitation and ask if you wanna try out the phone for just $15/month for one and a half months..and if you fulfill those requirements, you get to keep the phone forever.
