Why would they make this phone without Trimode??!!!

What is wrong with those idiots at LG??! The pack a phone with all the latest features and then leave out the Analog mode! Now I'm stuck with getting the "Kyocera Koi". Don't get me wrong, the Kyocera Koi looks like a great phone but if someone at LG had the brains to make VX 8000 a Trimode phone, I would have gotten the 8000 over the Koi without hesitation!

Thank you LG corp. for being total morons!

I cant wait to have a phone that doesnt have analog. its so annoying to have my phone go into analog and lose all my battery power, i would rather it have no service, and wait till digital became available again. analog is useless

You must be one of those LG employees that I was talking about (AKA: Moron)!

do u live in the woods or something is that why u need analong? i mean come on the only places with analog are places out in bfe and up in the mountains and whatnot. analong is useless and in case u werent aware, analog is going the way of the dinosaur within a year or so. also, if u were lg would u waste $$ and space for an outdated system like amps or would u use it to pack the phone with excellent features that most people could use since they are in digital areas and not out in the stix where u obviously reside since u are in love with sucky analog.

Hey Moron,
I live in the tri-state area, not the stix and there are still some areas that lack digital service (Not many, but still some ...

The new LG VX-6100 is tri-mode. It is replacing the all digital VX-6000. So, they are acknowledging the need for tri-mode phones.

If you want a better chance of making a call when you want to, a tri-mode is the answer.

I live in the CO mountains (digital near towns). I drive though KS twice a year where Verizon does NOT cover 90% of I-70. I get an analog signal for at least half the drive (4 - 5 hrs). If my car breaks down (never happened yet, but...), I want a tri-mode phone.

That is what I'm talking about. Forget the features, if the phone does not work, it might as well be a calculator!

Just forget the 6100 and consider the 8000. It is far superior in many ways! Plus, November 15th is not that far away!

😕 Im having the same issue. Im really wanting the 8000 but I dont know if it will pick up in my area or not since I live out in the country/woods. Fortunately I dont have to have a phone right now. My old Audiovox 9500 is still working just fine. While I love all the features on the 8000, it not worth a flip if it cant pick up a signal. All the surrounding areas near are digital. Most likely it wont pick up at my home because my trimode cant keep a signal there, but at I need it to at least pick clost to the house like it does now.

I can say the Receiver Sensitivity is excellent on the phone, so it may be worth a two-week trail.

Can't you set the phone to Home mode? I'm not sure, but I thought that would lock out analog.

Yes but if your phone reads analog, digital and pcs you will not pick up extended network pcs towers. so if your on a national plan you could really limit the network. that would make the phone only read verizon cdma towers. I have seen people do that on local plans, but if you live in area where you depend on extended network coverage that wouldn't work.
