LG VX-8000
8O LG 7000 or LG 8000
My contract is up in NOV and i want to get a new phone. Should i wait till the LG 8000 comes out or get the LG 7000 now!

8000 definately, no knock on the 7000 but come on this phone will have ev-do built in!!! i can tell u that vzw will have some sort of streaming video service for the phone of course it will be a paid feature as is most everything.

If you want to get a new phone right now, I would consider the vx6100, which is reputed by a reliable source on Howard Forums (VZW_Employee) to be on InfoManager, which means it will probably be out within the next 2 weeks. It doesn't have as nice of a screen as the 7000. And it doesn't have a color external display. But for me that's a bonus - if it has a black and white external display, the display probably doesn't turn itself off like the one on the 7000, PLUS you can actually read it in direct sunlight. The 6000 has a camera just like the 7000, but it also has analog, speakerphone, and it's shorter than the 7000.
I'm sure the 8000 will be the bomb and everything, but no one really knows when it will be released.

I don't know about in each person's respective area's but the 4500 has had reception problems in the Washington Baltimore VA region. From what I've heard the 6100 has the same issues. I would wait for the 8000. Although a manager who's tested the 8000 said there was absolutly no service in VA. That's definitely an issue that needs to be worked out which i'm sure will be eventually. I have the 7k now and it's a great phone. Earpiece is not as loud as my 6k but still sufficient. I'll be getting the 8000 for the speakerphone capabilities most likely, otherwise my headset will have to do for now.

so the 6100 is due out in a few weeks. i just got my phone on sat. i hope it comes out within my 15 days so i can take it back and return for that. because i really wanted a speaker phone... what are they other perks for the 6100?

Actually, the 6100 is already out. At least it's listed on the Verizon website under area code 55344. I believe that the 6100 has a speakerphone and is trimode (it does analog), it costs less and is smaller. I think that's it - it's a mid-level phone.

It's in my zipcode to: 48331, But I'm not getting this phone. I'm getting the nextel i860, it is a much better phone than this one.

If I search for vx6100 on the vw website, there are 4 hits 3 of which are phone lists that no longer include the 6100 and the 4th is the 6100 page that comes up with "selection unavailable". Also, the vx7000 is listed as sold out in my area, but is available under the other zipcodes.
