Guys, don't be fooled! No VX8000 until Jan 2005!
I understand that all of you are waiting for VX8000 with baited breath. One of you said it'll be out by the end of September. Please, stop bull*hitting our ears. It will not! Remember what was going on with V710. Same *hit. Same crap. I was in VZW stores in NYC, Phoenix, LA; all of them say not earlier than December-January. Enjoy your VX7000. Be more patient, more optimistic! 😉

A sales rep in West Covina estimated EVDO to roll out in L.A. within the next two months based on (1) timing of an EVDO training/meeting (which happened earlier this week) and (2) recent appearance of a VX8000 in the hands of an LG employee who needed help activating her phone.
If he is not too far off the mark, then EVDO (in L.A.) and VX8000 will be available by mid-November.

Everyone, please do not get yourselves worked up to a fever pitch anticipating the release of this phone. The other forums have taught me a valuable lesson. About this time last year everything was the buzz about the Audiovox CDM-9900. Common phraseology included "next week, next month, any day now, and on, and on, and on. One could wait for this phone (LG-VX-8000) a very long time. I suspect you will too because the EV-Do network that supports it is not ready.
Those of us who were Verizon-Audiovox fans waited 10 months for the CDM-9900 to come out which will finally release on Friday 10/01/04. Sprint had it's version the Audiovox CDM-9950 out in March 2004. All of us thought Verizon would trail it by only a few weeks at most, ... HOW WRON...
