I have done it both in the US and in Germany.

Using your cable or Bluetooth, connect via activesync. Go to your network settings and create a dial-up entry. For Cingular, you use *99# for the phone number.

Details on how to do this, along with screenshots, can be found at:

Jason;
I have used this procedure with success on a HP laptop (zt1180) running XP Home with great success, but can't seem to get it to work with my new HP zd8000 laptop running XP Pro.

After the *99# dialing, the error of 692 appears, "There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device)

I have redid all the connections, and even replaced the cable, and used different USB ports, all to no avail.

(The laptops are next to each other at the moment, and the phone works on one, but not the other!)

Any other suggestions?

Michael
