Out of no where my phone kind of broke i guess you can say. First of all, i cant change out of silent mode. I will go and click normal sound and it wont do that. Second, when trying to put items, such as mp3's and pictures onto my phone, my phone wont let me.For example, when i try to put on the mp3s it says "can not find file, make sure you specify the correct file name and path." And when i try to delete files it says cannot delete file. Access is denied. Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permission to copy this file type." And third, for some reason, my phone will no allow me to go into some programs. PLEASE! CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

It looks like (at least) a couple different things have gone wrong. To resolve the issue with the Profile staying set to Silent, what I would do is use a registry editor to change both of these registry keys to the value "Normal".

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Profiles\Activ eProfile
&
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Profiles\Defau ltActiveProfile

Then re-boot the phone. If that fails, then you will likely have to perform the "dreded" Hard Reset. Only do the Hard Reset as a last resort, as you will lose all customizations you have made to the phone.

For your other problem, does it happen only on the MiniSD card, or other places as well. A lot of pople have had strange problems with some of the cheap (i.e. slow) MiniSD cards (l...

I don't recall EXACTLY how it is done, but if you do a search on this forum (use the search options) or just look back on the pages from around December, January there was much discussion on how when why, etc to do a hard reset.

The registry editor is something you would need to download off the internet, then active sync the MPx220 with your pc and install.

The one I installed required you to go in and change some other kind of setting to keep it from shutting down too soon. Once I figured out how to do that, I used it to change the timeout setting for the external display from 6 seconds to 60 seconds. You could do lots of other things, but that is if you are a computer/tech geek like dchester, GEO, and others on that use this forum...

I don't think so. I believe it only resets all the hardware on the phone. BUT DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT!! 😁

Luckily, the phone is set up so that, even if you screwed up something in the Windows OS by moving files around where they don't belong or whatever, you can do a master or hard reset to restore the phone back to factory settings.
