Motorola Repair experience

Just thought I'd post this and share my experiences with the repair of my MPx220. Called the "Happy" Moto guy (boy if that doesn't get sick in a hurry) to check on the process for the repair of my phone, fell and cracked the screen, deep marks in the face. Was assured that if any charges would incur they would contact me for CC # if I provided email, tele# or address. 2.5 weeks and I got it back unrepaired with a note stating it was not under warr. and since no CC# was provided no repair. Resent after "nice" discussion with the folks from who knows where that you can't understand and they can't understand you. 3 weeks later and many, many calls plus having it placed on Priority 1 level to get it back to me in a hurry, yea right, I rec'd...

when my phone had hardware problems (wouldn't charge) i just caled cingular, they asked a few questions and then sent a phone to me for free in 3 days...no cost to me at all...and they were american...so if u have hardware problems, call cingular, not moto

Cingular wanted $450.00 to repair the phone since it had a cracked screen, Moto charged $70 for the same job. What you are going to find out is that you also can't get insurance from Cingular on the MPx220
...

oh i know they dont offer insurance...but they have a 1 year manufacturers warranty for defects only...i have never had a phone for over a year anyway

I am paying for insurance for the phone. Luckily I have not had to use it yet. I guess it depends which rep you talk with if it has insurance or not.

I have insurance on the phone. I must have had a cool rep. Unfortunately I am awaiting a warranty replacement. :-(
