...and speaking of listening to MP3's on your phone

Could someone tell me if an adapter exists that would allow me to plug standard stereo headphones into my phone using a plug adapter?

As you know, manufacturers (in their infinite wisdom) chose to design mobile phones using 2.5mm jacks. Well, that happens to NOT be the size that cheap, walkman-like headphones use. I've tried Radio Shack's adapter but sound only comes out of one side.

Motorola sells stereo headphones (model HS120) but they cost between $20-$30: a ridiculous price.

Those of you that are listening to MP3's on your phones, what solution have you come up with?

$4.95 there, but sound quality will be slightly compromised.

Try pulling the Radio Shack adapter out about 1 or 2 millimeters and you'll get stereo sound. I don't know if it's the Radio Shack adapter or the phone, but I had the same problem until I moved the adapter out just a bit.

Sounds great once you do that!

Hi all.

Anyone seen/tried a ROM update to improve volume in the earpiece and microphone yet?

I have read that one was being tested but haven't seen it out yet. Just curious/HOPEFUL!

thanks...

C'mon, currytk. Pulling out the Radio Shack adapter a couple of millimeters is not a REAL solution.
In fact, it's rather embarrassing that this phone, with all of its faults, also adds this one to the list.

I realize it's most likely a phone issue, but I've only tried the Radio Shack adapter.

I agree that for the price of this phone, the adapter should work. However if you use the method I provided, be sure to edit the system volume on the "Headset" profile, or every time you move between songs on the playlist, you'll get a really loud click.
