Cingular® Aware Of Problem(s)

According to a post on HowardForums (see link below), Cingular® is aware of the problem(s) and will not be selling the phone until the problem(s) is/are resolved.

Author of the post says he spoke with a Cingular® corporate store manager and was told they [Cingular®] were aware of the low volume problem and some other problems (that he would not disclose) and was sending any phones they had in stock (I suppose ones they had in stock for when they can sell them) back to Motorola®.

I certainly hope this is true because I love the features of this phone and want to get one again, but I do not love the quirks.

One of the problem with this phone is that it is made very poor. It is very fragile and the plastics make it seem like a toy and they cant fix that! I loved the features too but had to get rid of it after a week. Got the V3 and LOVE it!!!

Most phones are plastic, and seem fragile. If I were holding the V3 in my hand, as you are, I would feel that way, too, probably. 😁

I like the Windows® O.S. and am over Moto's tired phone book, which I understand the V3 still has. There was a time I was all about the V3, but I am over it and mostly because of the price. I will just be settling for a (fixed) MPx220 or the V551.

Plastic is not universal. There are different types and grades. The 220 is cheap and fragile unlike many of the new nokias. They could have and should have done better. I dont think the 220 would survive a good drop as my nokias have many times.

Your in the minority. I have litterally had 95% of every phone on the market and use over 10K minutes per month and compaired to Nokia plastics like the 6820 this does not even come close.

I hate to be cynical but I have to agree that it sure seems that Cingular is aware of their problems and is using B.Buy as a proving ground to debug phones.

I have....
-one Mpx220 purchased in a suburb of Chicago. the volume is really pretty good and when I set the Outdoor profile it's really quite good. however, when I power off the thing doesn't power off 98% of the time. the keypad light, external screen and internal screen are all on. the external screen displays the "M" logo and the internal screen is a blank, white screen. I have to remove the battery to get it to power down.
-one Mpx220 that I purchased in Texas last week that has the worst earpiece volume of any phone I have EVER owned but it powers off very well.
-a new M...

I do not think Cingular let Best Buy have the initial exclusive on the phone. I think Best Buy sought and received it. They may think twice next time, though.
