OH,

So what is an upcharge. I went by Best Buy and I think they advertised it as 347.00.

Thanks

if you're not qualified to upgrade or just want to buy a phone without a wireless plan, you have to pay an extra $150. sprint doesn't do that, they just charge their normal high price and you don't get the rebates.

so, if i am not qualified, with cingular, for an upgrade, how would this phone cost me?
Also, why the hell do carriers do this type of thing? Especially to long time good customers? you would think that if someone is eager (or dumb) enough to buy a new phone just because, that the carrier would encourage them by offering some sort of price incentive.

non qualified price would be $499.99. the reason bby does this is because too many people were buying too many phone and turning them around and selling them. but it's the carriers choice to do a markup. i like what sprint does; no markup, you just don't get the rebates.

i would hate to buy only to find out that there are problems. do you think i should wait a few monts after release to buy? I would think the price would drop by then as well.

If you gave people incentives all the time, then you would have people paying 150 to 200 under cost every month to get the latest phone. No matter how quick you set the date you would still have people not happy with the length of waiting time.

Stores lose money on the phones. Cingular or whoever reimburses and Cingular is not going to reimburse every 3 months when a new phone comes out. They are phones. Find one that works and stick with it or pay the sug...
