I HATE VERIZON I HATE VERIZON I HATE VERIZON

Motorola MicroTac Lite

sorry guys, i just had to get that out. i can't believe that they screwed this phone up, it was supposed to be hottest thing on the market! all the time waiting, the money spent, for what??? headache and upset??? seriously, they should to be sued for false advertising. bluetooth is a standard and for them to advertise the v710 as such, it better do what all other bluetooth phones do too. i know its awful to say, but im way too crazy when it comes to brands. if it cellular, its got to be verizion and its got to be motorola, so in the end im not budging. but trust me, i am and have been complaining. i just hope that there are enough others out there to make the switch over to different carriers / brands so that these two companies will feel th...

why do you blame Verizon for the Bluetooth problems? Just curious, you know Verizon does not MAKE the phone.... 😁 😁

BUT, Verizon is the one who makes the final firmware decisions. If VZW says no OBEX, Moto doesn't include it. If VZW says crippled bluetooth, then Moto does it. Verizon is the one holding the cards.

yes but if VZW said to cripple BT then moto would NOT be saying that it will be fixed with a firmware update....The OBEX maybe VZW's decision not to enable it....but if MOTO is saying they are fixing something and they acknowledge a bug then thats there screw up...

obviously vz has given moto the go ahead with developing "fixes." basically, this phone is sold pending a vz decision. moto needs vz more than vz needs moto. im sure moto would not come out and say this was all verizon's fault, or this was verizon's doing. both party's have been listening to the complaints and have decided to fix the problem as quickly and quietly as possible, not placing blame on any particular party.

It's true. Verizon released the phone without OBEX or advanced Bluetoth because they wanted everyone to buy the phone, pay to upload files through picture messaging, and then a little later release data support. They also didn't think the Transflash card was going to be a problem since it's planned release was late June / Early July.

It's meaning the release of the v710, not the Transflash card.

well i guess VZW really messed up cause on the Palm Treo phone you can send pix to and from the phone using the USB cable and not pixplace.com....they will prob come out with a "fix" to mess that up so you have to use pixplace....

I can't stand this complaining anymore. Gees, there have been no promises or guarantees, yet you guys continue to complain. There has never been any type of computer link to allow pics , ring-tones or anything from any of motos phones. And you expect this to change over night? There are alway going to be problems with new phones. If I were given the choice to either have a great working phone with some minor flaws or wait till its been perfected, I choose the latter. It is extremely hard to perfect things. And probably even harder to find every little flaw. We are lucky that transflash is not crippled. It is also impossible to make a phone that every one likes. I have no problems with my phone. The construction is about as good as any. Ther...

haha, what's really funny is we're keeping the phones.

My 710 rocks, of course some things suck, but less than most phones.

When they fix the multimedia phonetools issue I'll be happy.

I too hate Verizon, since it was freakin New England Telephone!

i am not complaining for the sake of complaining. i am just saying the more and more i read into the issues, it seems that verizon intentionally did what they did. i like to think of myself as an early adopter of new technologies, as im sure many others on this board do too. don't tell me about complaining just because something is not perfect, i am well conditioned to that already.

btw... i thought of this last night. the camera light on the outside of the phone could be used as a flash light. it's that bright, in a pitch black room it really lights things up. it would have definitely come in handy last summer during the ne blackout. it would be cool if there were a button / icon and would turn the light on / off instead of going through...

Crippled bluetooth is not a "minor problem." As others have pointed out, bluetooth is actually a communications standard. Trust me, if VZW had another phone that had fully functioning bluetooth, I would return this phone in a heartbeat!

verizon has the final say on what is sold in its stores. they had a major hand in severely limiting the bluetooth capability of the phone, so to not compete / draw revenue away from its wireless internet services. im sure this was a part of the verzion / motorola deal. also when you take a step back and look at other moto Vxxx product, they do not have nearly the same amount of compatability issues. plus, what incentive would moto have to limit its own products, instead of using them to showcase the latest and the greatest they have to offer. has nothing to do with who makes the phones, has everything to do with their software. and with that said, before these phone reach store shelves, verizon is the one with the final say.
