VERY BAD - you can NOT delete the PRE-LOADED PICS

I posted about this yesterday - but saw some people were still asking.

I spoke with a very knowledgeable MOTO Software CSR, and he confirmed for me that MOTO designed the phone so that you can NOT DELETE ANY of the pre-loaded pics.

Nor can you move them to your TF card to make more space on your phone.

I have NO idea why they would do this. Now, I have to give up a decent amount of memory to these silly little cartoons, and be bothered by them every time I want to look at my Media Gallery for my real pics.

Why would they do that - it's so silly? Like I'm ever going to send these to anybody?

***Additionally I did not format my TF card before using it - and I WAS able to move these pre-loaded pics to my TF card (well -not re...

Maybe not- try the method used on the V600. They seemed non-removable at first too but it was cracked and is very simple. You need the Mobile Phone Tools and cable.

Look for a thread on the V600 forum or go to HoFo in the Motorola forum and look for a similar topic- there is a massive thread on this subject.

I think you'll have to wait until MPT allows you to browse the filesystem on the phone via USB - currently AFAIK it doesn't allow this?

You can't really browse the file system on the V600 either. It shows the parent directory and the sub-directories are mostly empty even though they have all the files in them.

This method only requires you to drag and drop the zero byte file on the parent directory and not within any sub-directories.

Still, may require some experimentation and investigation to get the right names and extensions of all the files like they did on V600.

You can even use the multimedia pane of MPT with the V710; it's locked out, unfortunately (at least as far as I've been able to tell). That may change after a firmware update and software update...who knows.

Actually, you could on the v600 or any vXXX series phone if you use p2kman with the Motorola P2K Drivers, you can see all the files and even seem edit the seems.
