Here are some photos:

(All taken with the v710).
I have a few videos, but no way to post them...
The phone worked well, on Saturday, I managed to kill the battery by about 8PM:
-Up at 6AM, Phone fully charged, unplugged
-About 45 minutes-1 hour of talk time
-Bluetooth on all day
-30 Photos, 3 videos shot, about 6 photo emailed via phone.
The battery indicator never moved from "full charge" until I got the warning about the low battery... Hopefully it's a fixable bug.
The Bluetooth was GREAT... I charged the phone in the hotel bedroom, and went to the living room and connected via BT to get...

Nice pics 🙂 Camera is good for silly things but there is no way it compares to my 2.0MP with flash and won't even touch my soon to be purchased 5MP Canon.
LOL - You're right... This phone will NEVER replace a regular one. It's good for what I call "factual" photos -- What's in the photo is more important than the quality of the photo itself. If ET visits you, it's more important to simply get the photo, rather than making sure it's something you'd want to frame and hang on your wall.
I'll stick with my 4 MP Sony, and hopefully a digital SLR someday...

Patent leather shoes were once banned from some Catholic schools: Despite girls' modest shin-length skirts, their unmentionables might be reflected in the shiny part of their shoes.
Fast-forward to 2004, when some students in south Palm Beach County supposedly slipped their camera cellphones under girls' skirts for a digital peepshow. That prompted the school board Monday to do a little banning of its own: the camera phone.
Having them on campus, on school buses or at any school-sponsored activity, even out of sight, won't be allowed if the board affirms the policy Sept. 13.
Low-tech cellphones and cameras that aren't phones are still allowed...

Well.. they have banned them in fitness centers, bars, US Gov't court house's and other US government buildings here in Austin, TX (and this is a liberal city)
damn liberals, blame everyone else but the person, it's the person NOT THE PHONE! I can understand most of those...but BARS?!?! WTF?!? Camera phones are great for those late night moments when the memory starts getting a little fuzzy...
That's just stupid.
There's a large variety of cameras that are even smaller and more conceilable than a cell phone camera.
The problem with folks these days is that they don't differentiate between the "technology" and the "user". Taking pictures of people in certain situations, which upskirt photos are one of, is already illegal. There's no point in also banning the tools that are used for it.

Well, the v710 afterall is a phone. :-)
I'll bet the v710 takes better pictures than your MP5 Canon makes phone calls ;-)

Not sure why this was put on here, but dude take your 5 megapixel camera (when you get it) and dial 911 when your hit by a car. Oh gee you can't. 😈

So I guess if we follow your logic (sic) when he has that accident, he can take a picture and email it to 911 and they will respond faster? What a dill weed!
no the phone has gps and when you call 911 they can pinpoint your location. I was trying to state he didn't have any reason to let us all know his camera's were better then a phone that had a Camera Feature! douchebag. 🙄

Hey, there was a case a while back where a creepy kidnapper type tried to entice a kid into his car. The kid pulls out his camera phone and takes snapshots of the kidnapper and the car and makes the policeman's job quite easy.
Camera phones, or cameras in other sorts of devices have a lot of hidden benefits in situations where you may not have thought to have your camera handy.

How is your camera in indoor environments?? I also have the V710 and my indoor pictures are coming out horrible. I have the V600 also and my camera on that phone is way better than the V710. I ask this cause I'm wondering if I have a bad V710. Thinking about returning it and getting it str8 from Verizon.
I wouldn't count on it for quality indoor photos. Using this remond me of the old 110 instamatic (sp?) without a flash. It will work, but not very well. Try to play around with the settings, though. I noticed the indoor settings (home, office) make a difference depending on the volume and type (incandescent vs flourescent) of lighting.
When you say you connected via BT to "get my email and do some basic surfing" do you mean you connected to VZW's national access which is like 14.4 kbps and included under the basic calling plans? Or do you have a faster service? What kind of data rates have you been seeing?

I am using the 14.4 service... That's not the "National Access" plan, which will connect at closer to 40K-50K.
I have seen speeds of between 10K-12K (UGH!).
So far, I don;t think anyone has been able to connect to NA -- The standard dialing string is not accepted by the phone. There are poeple out there trying to get this solved. Trust me... There is NO WAY Verizon wants to make people su...

All you need to do this is the VZW Ezconnect software on your laptop and a bluetooth connection on your laptop right?

Thank you npitlor. So you don't have any special plan or anything, just a basic voice minutes plan - gotcha. This is how I used to do it with my 720 and the USB cable, but it will be nice to not use the cable anymore.

To be honest, I just use a PocketPC (Ipaq 4150). I don't even OWN a Notebook computer...
From what I've been told, you don't need any special software. Your Windows dialer should work. I know I didn't need anything for my PPC.
Uncheck "wait for dial tone"
User name: PHONENUMBER@vzw3g.com
(PHONENUMBER = your 10 digit number)
Password: vzw
No dialing strings
As far as anything else (like the modem, etc) it depends how you're going to connect; BT, cable, etc. You should check with www.thesupplynet.com, as they have pretty good instructions on setup.

Hi,
Someone sent me the link to this forum regarding the use of the V710 as a modem for laptops and/or Ipaqs via Bluetooth. You mention that you connected to your Ipaq to email and surf via Bluetooth. Did you have any problems at all? I've rung VZW with this very specific question and the answers range from "no" to "we don't support it" to "maybe, but I don't know."

Secondly, what data plan do you have to access the Express Network? I currently have the "minute plan" that I used on my Samsung A310 with USB data cable to connect to my laptop. It works perfectly, but apparently isn't offered any more. The megabyte plans seem too restrictive.
Any help you or anyone else can provide would be greatly appreciated!(continues)
