I emailed Motorola and asked them regarding the Motorola v710, "Can you connect to Mobile Phonetools via bluetooth and transfer Mp3s and pictures and videos and contacts?" They answered back stating "Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support. We really appreciate your interest in our brand and our products.

So you got a canned mail with no explanation but a link to buy there product. That's good.

OK, Bluetooth is Bluetooth (per the spec), so why doesn't my BT USB Kensington work for this? All I get is "Intializing..."

Notice they say on their BT kit v600 and v710 so accroding to acessories it should work. Maybe the people who bought from RS( Myself included) got an earlier than release software version on the phone that doesn't have the Data Transfer Profile.

Only way to know for sure is when Verizon makes the launch official and we can contact customer support. Only problem for some of us, is if that the way it is by the time this phone is official we'll be past our 15 day return policies.

Ya, but we should be able to get a ROM upgrade if that's the case. I doubt it's different software, though. I think Motorola jimmied the BT.

True you can't change the Bluetooth protocols but how Moto uses them is a whole different story. Plus they've only included three protocols on the phone so the other end of the connection (i.e. computer, PDA) will have to do all the real work. Not sure why the Kensington wouldn't at least connect though? Maybe that's another "feature" Moto added on?
