Just thought i would let you al know that i spoke with my local verizon sales rep about trading my lgvx700 for the v710. he stated that "the guy we have testing the new phones had nothing good to say about the phone'. He als told me to hold on to my vx700 becasue he said it was the best phone out. Not i am confused as all hell! 👿 😈 👿 If someone can please help me decide, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have been calling both customer service and local stores. And one thing I have come to realize is that we the consumers and members of this board know more about this phone than VZW sales reps and technical support.

I find it very hard to believe that this phone will be bare bones, since the Press Release clearly states what the phone will be offering. And everyone that I have spoken to either at the store or VXW Customer Service, have all expressed their interest and excitement about the phone. A few actually had seen a tester and were very impressed.

To price this phone at over $300 and not have bluetooth is highly suspect. So, I really doubt your source knows what s/he was talking about.

Your friend did not receive a phone from ebay. You are buying a spot on a list if you're buying it from ebay, you get the phone AFTER the stores get it.

Well if you want or need;

A) Bluetooth
B) 1.2 Megapixal Camera
c) Analog
D) T-Flash (up to 128meg)
E) Video Clip Recording
F) Larger color display (than the 7000)

then the V710 is for you!

If the above items are not your thing... then keep what you have.

I for one would not listen to one person's second hand information either way.

I heard the same coming from another Verizon dealer. He said the 710s comming out are bare bones, ie no Bluetooth, camera etc. But according to phonescoop, the phone has everything, so I am confused as well. I've been looking at the reviews of other Motorola's and none have been very good. I'm trying to compare this phone to the new LG phone(VX7000), and even thought this phone looks cool and has all those sweet features, LG seems to have great service and better products then Moto. I guess if you like all the marketing going into the v710 go for that, but I guess LG doesn't have to have all the glitz for their phone's glamor.

A coworker of mine used to work for Motorola here in NJ where the 710 was being tested. Unfortunately he quit soon after they just got the 710 (so he has no new or recent info). But he saw the first revision of it. He said it was so bare bones, it didn't even have a kaypad and it took him and his coworkers a full day to get it to load firmware on it.

He was telling me how they go though stages, the first few revisions were real bare bones and had no bluetooth, no camera, just some basic functions and then they keep building on it as the software p...

I am sure the phone will come out as described in moto's specs.

btw, RC51's rule 😁

couldn't help it, saw your name figured I'd drop another kind of "moto" reference. I love my bike, but i must admit, my heart has always been with the 916/996 series... those are and forever will be works of art.

Absolutely, the RC51 is really great. I love all the V-Twin sport bikes (well, actually I love all machines with engines and 2 wheels no matter what kind they are). My brother has a TL1000, I have a 996 (yellow bi-posto) and a friend has a super hawk. Don't know anyone personally with a RC51, but they are GREAT machines. The "DucatiBoy" reference is just cause that's my latest toy.

Man, maybe I should change my name here to "IWantA710" or this might turn into a motorcycle forum. 🙂

Sorry for being off topic.

They are probably right its the best phone OUT. Since the v710 is NOT out, then the 7000 is the best one out. The best phone out/coming is the V710.

You may want to wait until we actually have the phone until we actually have the phone before asking us to comment on the quality. The phone is feature rich; I have heard nothing about the phone coming out "bare bones". It is a full featured phone for a full featured price; the phone would not sell w/o the bluetooth and high res camera. People are looking for a feature-rich phone from Verizon. Whether the V710 stands up to the test remains to be seen...

Also, the Verizon reps sometimes know very little. I walked into a store asking about the V710 and they responded by showing me a rebate for the VX7000. I wouldn't trust a lone rep.

BTW, caporajm, I believe that the V600 received favorable reviews.

Just curious has anyone had many good experiences with motorola phones the ones I had in the past were junk. Nothing good to say about them except their size. I have had a few and a few nokias with a different service provider and nokia has been far more reliable across the board and they are releasing two new bluetooth phone that seem great. I like the LGs for Verizon and it has always been a good phone. well I guess we will wait and see when the V710 comes out somewhere someday, maybe.

My father owns the 270c and hes had it for about three years without any problems. No bugs on the phone or anything. The speakerphone on it is really good so i cant imagine why the V710 speakerphone is bad or anything else on it is bad.

I've never really trusted many of the sales reps anyway. Too many of them know very little about their existing products. Even those products that have been in the store for some time. I bet many aren't even spending half as much time as we are researching the new V710's capabilities or for that matter any other new product scheduled to come out in the coming months. This just emphasizes the fact that we have to do our homework before going to the store. I'm in no real hurry to get the V710. My old Timeport is still doing its job effectively. It will give me time to read V710 user feedback/reviews in the coming weeks.

I guess if I worked for Verizon, I wouldn't want to do the paper work on all those returned VX700s either. Push what you have untill something better(V710) comes in. I have faith in the 710 !
