Nice find. An appropriate and applicable article. Oh, and for all those people who think that the V710 may be nixed by VZW, read the article. As far as availability, I think that this does not necessarily mean it will not be out sooner, I think it was just a nice clean time frame to put on the release. And if it releases tomorrow, the statement is still true: the phone will be available in stores in August.
...
LieBuster,
I agree - I would guess that it will be available in limited quantities sooner especially since they state it will be available "nationwide in August" probably means that all fullfillment orders will be complete.
I guess now the race is oficially "on" as to who can get their hands on one first (non-test version)

I believe that hhsdevlin told us that the ones they had before (the ones that were flashed) have shipped, and a new batch is currently being produced in China as we speak. The new batch will be available in 2-4 weeks, so that places the phone in an August nationwide availability.

That guy was just re-posting Bonoriffic's info from Wireless Advisor. Since it actually came from Bonoriffic in the first place, its pretty reliable info.
Some other info that may be of interest... I don't know how Moto works with their shipments, but a few years back I know that Nokia used overnight air cargo and would send FULL 747 planes to the US every couple of weeks - I met a pilot at a trade show who had flown the job a few times. Anyway, if Moto does something similar (which one could only assume) we might get more sooner (via airfreight) rather than later (by boat).

I don't have a clue who Bonoriffic is, but this is an actual press release from Motorola, why can't you people just take it for what it's worth until proven otherwise?
Ridiculous, now even after "Official" word, people continue the speculation.
See ya children, I got the info I needed.
...
Was referring to the hhsdevlin post that was referred to in Mrs S post.
...
i was actually confirming bonoriffics information and added some that i knew. i did say yesterday that the packaging was approved, and today moto announced the release. about 8k units are available at this time. another 20k coming by august, and more one week after that.
...
available at this time???
...
8k shipping at this time. i don't know when it will be for sale.

Exactly.
I guesss GLOBALONE should call Motorola and Verizon ... it appears that they didn't get his message that the phone had been cancelled!! 🤣

Pricing and Availability
The Motorola V710 is expected to be available at Verizon Wireless stores in August 2004 for $249 after a $70 rebate with a two-year service agreement. Please visit hellomoto.com/producer for more details on the Motorola V710.
Yikes.

Yeah...I am hoping that's an error and they meant $249 before $70 MIR, but it's probably correct. At least I have NE2.
...
At least I have two pretty much brand new phones I won't be using anymore and eBay! 😛
...
I hope it's a error as well since atleast if I see anything less than $149 with the NE2 $100 and $70 MIR, then it's cheaper to get it at the indirect.
...
Guys, I did not do anything special here. Just found the information first.
Go to this home page. Phonescoop.com
The information is there! 🙂

...
I love you too Kelly
I don't know, seemed like the right thing to say.
...
Awww I love you too!
So much love. 🙂
I'm super excited about this phone, thats why there is all the love.
However, I am slightly disappointed by everyone now complaining about the price. Obviously this phone isn't going to be cheap, but I'm gonna be that loser that gets it the first day when its expensive because I really want it. I did that with the V60.
Also, since the press release states that the phone will be available in August, why is everyone automatically assuming that it will be available August 2nd. Couldn't it possibly have spotty availabilty before that?
🙂

Yes, I agree that there may be availability before that, hopefully in the Chicago area (Moto's home). I will be paying full retail for this phone, and I will purchase it the first day it is available. Why? Because I'm an idiot. Also, because my contract isn't up for another year and I'm a tech junkie. No offense to anyone on this forum, but I'll sure be happy to not have to come here multiple times each day. It's been fun, and I'll see you all at the next much anticiopated release!
...
My contract ended in April so Im up for my NE2.
That would be $150 AFTER rebate right with the discount?
...
Mr.S.Jul 20, 2004, 10:18 AM
I think so. I am up for NE2 also, and I did have one Verizon sales rep try to run game on me and tell me that the $70 rebate would eat up $70 of my NE2 credit, and subsequently I would only end up getting $30 over others not using NE2. I didnt even argue: I just left, and will never go to that rep again.
...
yeah hook, its just pretty much everyone on this site the past couple of weeks has been posting stuff with no credible proof. the fact that you posted an actual motorola article was kinda of a relief....
...
Is anyone else ASTOUNDED at the poor grammar and actual errors (typos? - Who knows...) throughout this release?
...
I really could careless about the Internet spell checker!!! I would also hope that you have better things to do than spell check press releases. 🙄
