Knowing all that you two know about the external screen being crap and other minor problems with the V710. Do you still recommend getting it when it comes out? Or should we wait for the VX8000? I am able to update my phone in August and like everyone else on this forum, I have been eagerly awaiting the V710's release. I'm just wondering if i should just wait alittle longer for the VX8000.

This is my opinion and The Alchemist opinion may differ from that of my own you can take it as you may.
I owned the v710 and it had some major problems that a casual user like myself could not deal with. Motorola hasn't produced a good CDMA pho...

what major problems did the phone have for you?
This is the link for a thread I did in the past and even that didn't signify all the problems I had with the phone.

I'm a gadget whore though, so these Moto is very appealing to me. I am also loyal Moto consumer, so it's only natural for me to be supportive of the brand. It's like your home or favorite sports team. They might slump for a few years, but once they get the right people, or in this case- the right handsets, they'll relive their past glory. I can't turn my back.

You're completely right!! I'm a Moto fanatic and that's the reason I had to find a way to get my palms on the phone. I'm a Moto fan and I only used the G once and that was the vx6000. Yet out of the 2 Moto CDMA phones I had and kept the v200 and t720 both were complete pieces of ****, excuse my french. I found myself getting them replaced tons of times. I found myself getting a Samsung replaced once or twice but I never once had to get the LG replaced ever.
You're right, you can't turn your back on the team, that's why I went back to Moto but after...

I wemt down my entire cell phone buddy list trying to find a v710 and vx7000 before they were officially released and sure enough I did get my hands on both, the v710 first.
Sure while both the vx7000 and v710 have 262k TFT screens the v710 is TFT LCD which made the images look alot sharper.
As for the external screen the vx7000 had that hands down, no contest there.
I only paid $550 for the v710 and after having the vx7000 and v710 right there in my hand for a week I saw myself putting the v710 down to mess with the vx7000.
The vx7000 is one nice phone, sure some people say it's ugly or it's shaped like a box but they said the s...
