First of all, I think it would have been impossible for Motorola to put that contest up as early as they did with a definite expiration date. They would have no idea when Verizon testing would allow this phone to be released. So they put another two caveats in there:

or while the first 710 offer packages last."

And

Motorola reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.

Now, why would they even put a date? Well, it's kinda cute. The V710 promotion expires on 7/10/04. This doesn't mean that the phone won't come out soon, just that the date means nothing.

I would forget the 5/21/04 release date but not put past a release sometime in june. Employees (people I know) at verizon would know of its release by now if it was coming out this month. As for as the 7/10 promotion expiration date, that means nothing and they could change it at anytime. Its not a formal contract its a promotion and they change promotion all the time without notice.
