Lets not get frustrated...we all realize it takes a while...get over it.

GSM = Cooler gadgets....bad coverage area
CDMA= Decent phones....excellent coverage

I'll take a phone that can make phone calls over one that can turn into a "radio"!

Anyone will admit the phones for verizon have greatly improved over the past few years...its only gettin better! Be patient...

I'm sick of the crappy phone selection at Verizon as well ... but I sure love being able to make a call and have it go through EVERY TIME. Sure wasn't the case when I had Cingular.

Don't get me wrong...making a phone call is important, that is why I dropped T-mobile. Like Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, I have Adam’s hierarchy of phone needs. Once the basic needs are met, I begin working on the next level. Eventually reaching phone-actualization. Including, Bluetooth, speakerphone, camera, pda, yada, yada, yada…

This Is my take on the whole GSM and CDMA fiasco. All of the GSM carriers were worried about getting new high tech phones with every gaget available at that present time and they stopped with putting up towers, hence the coverage. So Verizon said no, we will update our system before we update our phones. That's my take on the situation. Verizon's phones have gotten so much better feature wise and style. So Verizon is still #1 in my book.

I think the market drives the phones, and the market for GSM, overseas is has grown faster than the CDMA market. Now, that the GSM market is saturated with cool phones, the manufactures are finally looking back at the US market and hoping they can sell more phones here.

Not sure if this is correct, but it sound good.

I totally agree, I have been waiting to be a verizon customer for some time now. But the phones just are too out of date by the time they come out. Oh, btw, why is there no mention of the TOSHIBA CDMA VM 4050 on here???
That phone looks AMAZING. If verizon/moto dont get their act together and compete with the other carriers who are working on getting their coverage improved, there will be NO REASON to choose verizon at all.
