Move MP3's to phone?!?

LoveMyV710

Before I let V update the software on my phone(last week) I was able to load MP3's on my T-Flash via my computer and then move them from the card to the phone. Now the MOVE and COPY options are gone! Is it just me or am I missing something?

Unfortunately -- you're not missing a thing. The update takes away the ability to do the 'MOVE'. Do a search of this site to find out how to do a 'seem edit' to restore this functionality. It does work!

If you are just wanting to move the mp3's to the phone to use as ringtones, and you don't want to do the seem edit, there is another way to get them to the phone. You attach them to a pix message, send it to a fake phone number. When it fails, you will find the file in the outbox and from there you can store it on the phone.
A few steps, but easy once you have done it a couple of times.

It's posted in several threads over on Howardforums.
The one small gotcha is that there is a size limit to the file that can be attached. Somewhere around 265K seems to be the limit. Not a real issue for a ringtone.

Other approach is to do a seem edit on the new firmware to add the copy and move command back in.

I have been happy with the new firmware. Actually seems to be more stable. Phone boots faster and shuts down faster. Only thing I had to get used to was the phone now rings when connected to BT headset. That is good, just don't forget the audio is still going to the headset. I tucked my headset into my pocket one day and forgot to turn it off. Got several phone calls and when I answered the phone, no one was there 😲
Took me a few calls to realize that I just could not hear them as I was answering the phone and not the headset. 🤭

my biggest questions with the new firmware is the camera and the bluetooth, are they any better?

also can anyone else confirm this mp3 sending (to the fake number) and saving it to the outbox? i wonder what a 265k song can hold...

ordering the new phone within the next few days, any word on the e815?

Bluetooth now talks to Motorola Phone Tools so that's a plus. Don't have a car or headset to use with BT -- so I can't attest to that.

Camera is the same at the lower resolutions -- but after looking at the highest resolution, I would say that it is slightly improved.

My biggest disappointment with the camera is NOT a tilted picture or any of that -- but I feel that the focus is very poor at almost any distance. I would think that there's a way to adjust the focus mechanically -- but I haven't found a way yet -- and I hate to take the phone apart to look into it further.
