new v710 flash upgrade not going away.....
I went to the verizon store yesterday to find out what i could do to get my transflash transfer back. What they basically told me is that it isn't going to be fixed. The reason was is that Verizon screwed up the first time by allowing it and those who were able to do it weren't using get it now. And you know verizon doesn't want this to happen. so the fix i found, which only worked for me since i got the phone just 2 days ago, is that i exchanged it for a new v710 that had the older software on it, which a lot of the verizon stores still have since they are trying to push the models with the new software on them...hope this helps people in not getting the new flash, because it sucks....

I think the new flash is a nice improvement. Especially since all you do is change the 041a seem to enable the TF Card back to normal 😁

so wait, you mean i can go to verizon and do their official firmware update, then go back home and just change the 041a seem to enable teh TF card transfer stuff? instead of doing the firmware update myself?

yep! Let VZW flash your phone (in case of any troubles of frying your phone and whatnot). Then when you get home, just change your 041a seem to turn the TF card back on. I did it and it works perfect.
I definately recommend the new flash, but only because you can still "fix" your options to how you like.

yea cause i forgot and lost the instructions about the flash anyway. and does the phone still have to be fully charged for just the changes?

The phone must be fully charged if you flash it yourself, or if not, make sure you're using a datacable with a charging port.

Aside from having a datacable at hand, you can edit seems, change Verizon banners, flash your own phone, delete stock images... a whole mutiltude of fun hacks. Everything I've done to my phone has come directly from those two pages.

Long story short, I let VZW flash me from the original to the .OR. Then I came home, changed the 041a seem and everything was great.
Then I went to edit my websession and deleted over half of my file structure in Bitpim and hose my phone. So I went for the gold and flashed to the .SD. The 041a seem that comes with that flash is fine, but still not as fine tuned as I like to I still edited it.
