Ok I have a question and I am new to Motorola phones.
With my old phones I would add a name to my address book for example.
Joe Smith
Cell number
Work number
Home Number
Email address
I would scroll to the name I wanted to call then choose that name and then on a new screen choose the number I wanted to call. Or just choose the name and it would call the number I set as the primary number.
But with the Motorola I add a name and it adds four entries into my address book I have to scroll through to get to the next name. So it looks like this.
Joe Smith

Work Number
Joe Smith
Home Number
Joe Smith
Email
Now not only is this annoying enough to make me want to throw the phone...

This should help
1. hit your CONTACTS button
2. hit the MENU button
3. scroll to the bottom and choose SETUP
4. click on the bottom one which says "View:"
5. choose "primary contacts" instead of "all
contacts".
6. Make sure you hit the DONE button and it should save it.

after you do this,select the name,then hit you right or left keys to navigate through the diff #'s for the contact.just stay calm and you will learn to enjoy it.i really like moto's address book and the scheduler. 😁

I have almost 400 contacts on my phone--using MPT to sync with Outlook. And the voice dialing command (Obey Moto) is great. It will ask the name, then asks which number, and lists those available. Really helpful.

Thanks everyone with the address book help this is better not what I am used to but better that's for sure I thought I was going to loose it there for a little while. I had three names and 12 entries no way was I going to put in another 150 names and have 4 entries for each one.
Sorry what is MPT? I bought verizon office software and cable but I find it to be very lacking and not really for this exact phone.
Also I have gotten the obey moto working for when I just want to say the numbers to dial but I find I am not able to make it call a name.

when you press the obey moto button,you either say name dial or digit dial. 😁

MPT stands for Mobile Phone Tools. The VZW data kits sucks.... goto motorola.com and under phone accessories you will find info regarding MPT.
NOTE: you cannot sync via Bluetooth with the current firmware. VZW is testing a new beta that will allow BT sync'ing, but disable files transfers.
