I have a custom built machine and do not know the exact manufacturer of my 6-in-1 card reader, but it is not recognizing my Transflash card with adapter at all? The "Access" light does not blink at all or do anything?

It seems to be a fairly basic and/or standard internal usb card reader which is suppose to do SD, MMC, SMC, MSC, and CF.... My CF works that I know of for sure b/c my digital camera uses CF but for some reason I cannot get the SD to work?? I tried looking for drivers, but something this basic couldn't be found and the one I did, didn't help. 😛 Mostly I assume Windows updates take care of drivers for this since it is a basic reader.

I formatted the TF on my phone twice - it works perfectly fine there. Also, it works in m...

Quick update - this is SO NOT my preferred method of doing this but apparently the whole Palm Pilot - work around thing does OK.... However, again, I do NOT want to go through two uploads and two devices like this just to get mp3's on my phone.... đŸ˜ŗ 😕

Of course - after the money spent on this dern thing - I would definitely do this than BUY something else! LOL

I believe the problem is definetly your SD reader. Do you have another regular SD card to try in the slot? Does the computer recognise a "removable drive" when you plug in the adapter by itself (with no TF card)? It should..

I believe you will find that the problem lies in the reader itself. If not, for some reason the adapter is not cooperating with the reader you have installed.

Every SD reader I have tried (2 generic and 1 moto) have all worked fine. My PPC Ipaq and Rio mp3 player also read it fine.

"Do you have another regular SD card to try in the slot?"

No unfortunately - I thought of this also and none of my friends or family have an SD card. Sad to say I am the most "techie" of my bunch 😛 lol

"Does the computer recognise a "removable drive" when you plug in the adapter by itself (with no TF card)?"

Yes but doesn't recognize the card.

And unfortunately the longer I've thought about this problem the more I have to concur that I may need a new reader but that is just more unwanted "anguish" I don't want right now... ☚ī¸ I got the 6-in-1 to avoid this kind of problem especially when I wanted to switch digital cameras but I guess it might be for nought?

I had an issue with dust being sucked into my PC case through all open slots, and that prevented my card from reading properly until I sprayed some Dust Off into there. If this isn't the problem then I guess I would try to exchange the card for another one

I know this is late, but I just started reading these posts this week. I had a similar problem with transflash card adapters. Have had a 128 MB transflash card for 6 months. Recently upgraded to a 256 MB transflash card. Had difficulty in getting my 12 in one card reader to read the new card. Found out it was not the card at all. Was the adapter. Stuck my 256 card in my old 128 adapter and card works fine. Could not get either card 128 or 256 to work in newer SD adapter than came with 256 card. Hope this helpful. Chris
