Hey, I called customer service yesterday complaining about how there was no info on when the stores were going to have them again. The lady told me that they now had them in stock and she could send me one and I would have it by friday. I called today to make sure they sent it and they gave me the tracking number and when I checked it it showed that my wife signed for it today at 1:15 pm michigan time. 😲 they sent it standard overnight. And the best part is today is my birthday. Now if I get home and the camera is fixed and it has the new software then this will be a great birthday for me! I will keep you all posted!

Here is a follow up. My v710 came today and yes the camera is fixed 😁 but no the software on these phones has not been changed. It is still the same 8700_01.30.8f 🙄

When you say the camera is fixed, are you referring to just the tilt problem or the picture quality too?

Give me a chance would you. I do have a life other than a computer. The camera tilt is fixed and as many of us have noticed the photos are brighter than they used to be. I took a photo in my kitchen with the old phone and then took the same photo with the new phone and the new ones photo is much brighter. Not sure why as the software is the same version.

I have been messing around with the V710 for some time. I know Motorola is working on some software updates. I am running 8700_01.3F.0R on mine right now.

Just curious as if VZW is upgrading the sofware over the air or in store. My software version is, as of 1 minute ago, 8700_01.30.8F can anyone tell me that has the new phone if this is the software version that came with it or if it's different. If it's the same can you connect to your pc or pda?

I picked up a VX7000 on Tuesday of this week, spoke with a rep last night on the phone, went out to one of the stores that got some 710s in and came home with one, that appears to not be the ones that everyone had problems, with, Ive been playing on it all day not frozen or anything weird yet. It appears this one is the real deal of what should of been released. I only didnt purchase it before because of all that i read on here, seeing this one i picked up may clear up some worries about the new ones not being any better. Im satisfied. 😁

I called customer service the girl told me that the phone is on back order and will not be in stores until late november. She also said that it could be earlier but as of the last e-mail the end of november was the projected date. I'm in New York, so this may only be specific to maybe the northeast. She also told me that I would have to go into a store to pick up the phone. All orders that were entered into the system were cancelled so if you were expecting a phone via mail it may not come... call customer service in your area to verify... since this may only be area specific.
Other than that... if someone somewhere else does get the phone or if it becomes available in NYC... please let me know. I'm dying to know what changes they made...

I was just in the verizon store at polaris/columbus ohio yesterday 11/4, because my v710's lens escutcheon fell off.
haven't been following this forum for awhile and here's this lengthy thread.
anyway, they checked stock, said it was available--and had been unavailable for a time--and are shipping me a replacement. We'll see. I got paperwork and everythin'.
Cheesy lens escutcheon attachment btw. some kinda gluelike goopy jiz came loose...

I called my local VZW store in Eatontown, NJ today expecting to get the run around regarding a replacement but I got a surprise.
I told the rep I had a 710 and that I heard they were swapping out for camera tilt.
He agreed and said they were, but that the new batch of phones had not yet arrived.
I commented that other markets had the new phones already, and he agreed that some did.
I asked him when the new phones would be in ... and he said he didn't know ... to try calling back in week.

Are the new phones brand new or like-new/refurbished phones? because i spoke to a verizon rep. and they are sending me a v710, however the phone is like-new. i tried getting a brand new phone but they wouldn't because i had already passed my 15 days warranty. does anyone know how i can get a brandnew v710 from verizon because i hate the fact that i paid for a brandnew defective phone and am getting a like-new/refurbished phone for the same price
