Can you use the iTunes prog on files that are already in MP3?
When I try this, the only option I get is to convert file to AAC. I don't see a way to truncate the song while it is still in MP3, and when I try it converting to AAC and then renaming, it isn't recognized as a ringtone by the phone.

yeah if you go into the preferences (the importing tab) you can change what file type you want to encode into. i have it set on 96kbps Mono. 25 seconds is around 200k. works great.
