From scratch...how to upload mp3s as ringers

Ok...to save time looking thru ALL the threads ... heres a question

1. How do I upload mp3s into my phone and place them as ringers?

(start from the point where i have an mp3 on my computer...and be sure to tell me which cables to use)

chop mp3 down to desired length/bitrate...
purchase 6 4or 128 meg transflash card with SD adapter from
www.amazon.com

purchase USB2.0 SD/MMC reader/writer from amazon.com also...

put card in phone, go to settigns, phone info, storage devices, menu, format...

remove card from phone and place in SD adapter then place in SD reader and stick your mp3 in motorola/shared/sounds/ folder...

put in phone, then go to media center, sounds, menu, switch storage device, tri-mmc... then go to the mp3, hit menu, and select move... move to the phone's memory, then you're all set...

make sure your MP3s are CONSTANT BIT RATE... VBR mp3s will not play...

for ringers all you need is 64kbit/second MONO... keeps the size down, as ringers ha...

question- back when i bought my card i loaded the songs on 1s then slipped it into my phone (before formatting) now whenever i click on "sounds" the phone freezes......any ideas ?
