I got the VX 7000 in Sioux Falls Friday, and love it so far. Brilliant blue on the cover, and the photos are much better. The display has more res, and the ringtones sound better and clearer than my 6000. I like the look and feel, and you can take shots with clamshell closed.
The things I don't like are the unchangeable colors of the menu, and the fonts are a little too small, but no big deal. The wireless web has an all new, graphical look and is much easier and more useful to use than it was on my A610.
ALSO, my VZW rep says the menu system on this phone is VZW's new menu system, and will be on all new phones from here on out.

If you lhave the time, can you tell us if the ringtone comes through the hands free headset? Also, is there a ringtone that sounds like a phone ringing (vs. dance music)? Is the menu intuitive or do you have to search the manual to figure it out? Thanks!

I have used the headset, and from what I remember, a soft tone beep comes through the headset when there's a call.
There is a ringtone that sounds like a phone. I have had other LG phones, and there's new ringers that came with the phone. I feel the sound is great.

Hi! I will post a pro and con list when I have more time to play with it. I want to spend a few days doing that. I got mine this morning and I love it so far. Thankful to get it.
Pro:
* Good Size for woman with nails
* Camera works good so far. Flash helps with the picture quality inside. Good.
* Ring-tones clear and Sharp, Sounds Very good
* Screen savor/ Wallpaper - comes with 14 presets ( I think get it now has more you can download if you don't see something you like)
* I like the color of the phone but I purchased a black leather case to put the phone in. (If you don't like the color the black case looks nice) Consider that.
* Picture quality looks Sharp , so far.
* Like the outside display and you can add pictures artwo...

mine was 299.99 1 year with rebate (I think it's 70.00) I didn't get my rebate form when they shipped it to me. I will pick one up on the first when it's launched in my area.

You can buy a car charger with a speaker phone attached to it.

You say 1yr with a rebate-its that 70.00 with one year-is that a one year contract and if so do you know what type of rebate or cost would you have gotten with a 2yr contract. I'm planning on switching on the 11th and I'm looking at a 2yr contract

might as well get the A670 for 79 bucks at radio shack, im having a dillema myself paying 250 bucks for a phone when i can get just as good a phone (i know less features) for 80 bucks.

i decided that while i am awaiting hte release of the 7000, why not take advantage of the 15 day return policy and try out the a670. i am LOVING it so far. i am thinking that it is a good thing that i cant send video (got a $211 bill last month! 😛) and plus im goin to college at UNH this fall and they are on the extended network so i wouldnt be able to take advantage of the video messaging anyways. heres my phone history: got the vx1 when it forst came out, then at my 10 month mark (only will sign one year contracts, couldnt keep a phone for longer than that) i got the a530, when it first came out. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. it was the best phone i ever had. i bought a 6000 from ebay for $240 and sold the a530 for $260. then i upgraded to the 890...
