Hi all!. Sorry to make a thread for myself about something so lame. I am past my time to upgrade my phone. I have had a motorola v60. for almost 3 years and never had a problem at all same battery too. I am seeing so much talk on here that LG is the way to go especially at my local verizon store. they alwyas say LG. Can anyone give me any info on their opinions or experiences. I was thinking of waiting for the v710. But, some of those new LG's look great too.. Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond any info at all.

be wary of taking advice in salespeople. They have a vested interest in steering you toward products they have been told to sell or they have a promo on. If you buy a decent phone now and a better one comes out in a few weeks, maybe they can get you to buy 2 phones over a shorter period of time. That being said, the LG is a very good phone, the vx6000 esp. Great screen and reception and image quality and nice loud ringer. I can only imagine that phone price dropping when new ones come out so if you get one now, dont be surprised if its marked down a few weeks after you buy it.

I have an LG 6000 and it is great. Before that I had a motorola 720 and it was no where as good in my opinion. Fogetting about the camera, my biggest pet pev about the Motorola phone I had is that it was not possible to silence the ringer or put it in vibrate mode without opening the flip phone. Second of all to get it to silence it would always make a sound until I finally figured out a way to silence the ringer without it making a sound which took 2 steps, 3 if you count opening the flip. With the LG there is a button on the outside of the phone so you don't have to open the flip, you just press and hold the button and it goes to vibrate, hold it again and it goes to silent no vibrate. I was so annoyed that the Motorola didn't have t...

I am very skeptical about the quality of motorola phones. I loved the v60 but after the v60, every verision of the T720 series ie, t720, t722, t730 etc. were all horrible phones. If you were to buy phones through verizon, definitely sway your quality of phone towards LGs and Samsungs. They just have much better quality. but who knows the v710 might change it all with all those packed features, but definitely it would not be a phone I would buy because of the price. Go for the next LG that will be coming out. That's my advice

Either way though if I were you there are a few new phones that will be realeased within the next 3 months...hold out b/c the new stuff should be a lot better than anything in stores now.

Dude... all i can say is .. LG LG LG !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a Mot. 720, and went through 5 of them... Before that I had a v60 and then a long time ago the startac.. Motorola sucks... I was so desperate, i paid full retail and finally upgraded from the 720 last summer to the vx6000.. OMFG... I love this phone... It is the coolest phone, I have not had ONE problem with it, and I'm hard on phones too, and it has not crapped on me at all.. I work for Verizon too, so i see a lot of phones and how they act... the 4400 is sweet too, too bad its discontinued, but just about any LG is cool... the new 4500 is pretty sweet.. and the fact that the 6000 is all digital has not given me any problems either, and i travel all over... If you have any ...

😕
Confusion reigns supreme. I currently own a VX6000, am happy (for the most part). Unhappy with lack of ability to program key pad lights. Anyone know if other LG phones have addressed this issue?

what exactly do you mean by (program) key pad lights. you mean on a timer like 20 or 30 seconds than yes go into display features -it'll be there on the vx6000.

There is no way that you can extend the length of the key pad lights to stay on for the vx6000. You can only control the main and sub screens and their timers: There is no option for the keypad...

Are you sure, I dont remember. I had the 6000 twice, but it was over 6 months ago. My girlfriend still does I'll check it out... but I though the main screen was in sync with the keypad and I remember setting timers for the screen.

Many years ago I had the Moto Startak. I loved that phone. I never liked any other phone as much until I have the LG 6000. I don't give a hoot about the camera, but the phone's software and the way it works is great. As mentioned here, there is one fatal flaw, the keypad lights do not stay on long enough (and cannot be adjusted). This would be my only reason for changing phones and I hope the LG 7000 fixes this problem. If the Moto 710 works as nicely as the LG 6000 I might think of going back to Moto because of the bluetooth (the reason I want bluetooth is so I can easily use hands-free in my car or any other car). But who knows when the 710 will be out (I never listen to the supposed people "in the know")? My contract runs out in J...

Im surprised that the keypad light thing bothers you guys so much. I dont blame you at all though because every phone I have ever owned has always had a small silly thing that really bothered me, I know where you're coming from. I guess I never took notice of the keypad light, as long as I was able to adjust the main display light I was fine. One phone that bothered me b/c of the main display was the a530. Another quirk I have is not being able to change the background colors like on the a530, a610, the aud 8600, 8900. Hay we all have our pet peaves and I am yet to see the PERFECT phone ya know.
