this phone seems to lose a lot of good features from the VX6000. I thought it was supposed to be much better?

This description doesn's exactly dipict the features on the phone. Phonescoop doesn't know all, they provide us good insight on the upcoming phones but they are not always sure on the features of the phone. I'm sure Verizon will include everything that the Vx6000 had and much more, it wouldn't make any sense if they down graded a phone. So no worries on the features that you listed being there.

Don't worry, the 7000 will certainly have most of the things you listed. Gimme a break: a camera phone without custom graphics? You'll certainly be able to make your pics into wallpaper. Verizon's big moneymaker is Data. They won't be releasing any more non Get-it-now phones, which means the 7000 will definitely be able to download ringers and games. I don't know about phone book capacity, but text messaging will have a few canned messages (does anyone really use them anyway?) text recognition, all that stuff. Phonescoop can't publish the features until they are officially announced, but every cameraphone has caller picture ID, and every get it now phone has ringer ID. Verizon isn't dumb. They won't release a great new phone that falls short...
