Hex Editor trouble...

I just tried to edit my gain_table.bin file with HHD Hex Editor. I changed the volumes that I wanted and saved the editted file. When I attempted to load the new file on to my phone I didn't see an "upload path" button like the guide says I should, instead I saw an "upload seem" button. I used that, typed in "/a/" hit "upload seem" and choose the new gain_table.bin file. I hit open and I assumed everything had worked properly, a message "uploading seem N 0000record N 0001" showed up at the bottom and stayed there. I can't quite tell if anything has changed with the volumes, is this normal???? Thanks.

I'm hoping Brettflan can help you better... but instead of hitting the "upload seem" button, I first click on the /a/ folder on the right side (the phone folders), then I clicked on the "PC >>>> Phone" button, selected the new gain_table.bin file from my computer and then clicked Open. It then sent the file to my phone. I disconnected my phone, powered it down, turned it on and POOF... loud volume! It took me a few times to get the volume exactly the way I wanted it, but eventually I got it.

Brett... Can you offer any more (or better) insight into this?

FETNU it worked perfectly! Thanks a bunch! You wouldn't happen to know which offset location is for the side keys would you?

The part where it was talking about using "/a/" was that little textbox at the bottom of P2KMan which says "uploading path" next to it. "/a/" may be what it defaults to (not sure, but likely it is), but better safe than sorry I say. ;-)

As for the volume of the side key beeps, that would be the last offset listed, Soft keys (hex location 4E). But I wouldn't lower it too much since it also covers the volume for other stuff such as reminders, low battery warning, and a few of the "classic" lower quality ringtones like "Continental." All of those are lumped together.
